6/10/2007 12:18:40 PM
TWW is a mystery filled conundrum wrapped in an enigmaI do agree that there are new features that need to be added....probably wouldn't take too long to do either. I don't think it's in the site owner's interests though.
6/10/2007 12:33:56 PM
Omar will probably buy it after several more horse wins[Edited on June 10, 2007 at 2:25 PM. Reason : w]
6/10/2007 2:22:15 PM
if several of us got together and pooled some moneyhow much would it be to buy the site?
6/10/2007 4:12:53 PM
I would chip inbut I doubt it would be cheap
6/10/2007 4:15:22 PM
I'd help buy it
6/10/2007 5:39:42 PM
he will probably let it go for 100k, just to finally wash his hands of it.
6/10/2007 5:40:58 PM
wow, 100kI could see 10-20 maybe100k, L O L
6/10/2007 5:48:39 PM
i dont think he would let it go for 10-20, all he put in it to get the amount of people signed up...someone who bought it could open a "store" and maybe make $$$....all about hits and unique visitors....he has lots of both.....i think this site has the most users of any state site also...it is all about traffic and exposure when it comes to internet sites worth..[Edited on June 10, 2007 at 5:57 PM. 6/10/2007 5:56:06 PM

6/10/2007 6:16:23 PM
I have the sneaking suspicion that the ongoings of TWW will have an impact on near future events
6/10/2007 6:19:30 PM
i'll chip in 5k but i get to be President, ok
6/10/2007 11:11:53 PM
I would buy TWW if I won the lottery.]
6/11/2007 12:21:31 AM
we should commandeer this place and turn it into a cooperative.
6/11/2007 2:16:04 AM
6/11/2007 12:30:44 PM
it just fucked up again
6/11/2007 5:10:43 PM
If you use the MySpace sales numbers as a basis for calculating the value of TWW - the MySpace acquisition was the cheapest purchasing of a website its size based on amount paid per pageviews per month (~$0.045 per monthly pageview)- TWW is worth about ~$560,000.Annually, TWW gets about 400,000 pageviews per day (look at the ad info page). Multiply that by 30 and the MySpace sale statistic of $0.045 per monthly pageview and you will arrive at the $560,000 figure. Even taking into account that TWW only reaches a regional audience, I think 100K is still a valid estimate of a legitimate purchase price for TWW.
6/12/2007 1:25:35 PM
damn i had no idea that it could even be worth that much
6/12/2007 2:30:58 PM
The sad thing about this place is that basic forums have better features than this place.Mainly I'm talking about search capabilities. The searching on this forum is broken as fuck. You can't search through thread titles most of the time and searching through posts has NEVER worked (even though it shows as an option).I mean damn, free Invisionboards that you can sign up for on your geocities accounts have better search capabilities than this place.
6/12/2007 3:03:23 PM
yeah, but ill trade a search feature that hardly no one uses for the ease of navigation and readability that is crazy web
6/12/2007 5:18:06 PM
yeah but how about both which 99% of forums have these days... anything phpbb or invisionboard powered
6/12/2007 5:33:46 PM
6/13/2007 5:32:15 AM
waaahhh, waaahhh, bitch, bitch, moan, waaahhh, waaahhh.but i see where y'all are coming from since daily usage of tww is required.

6/13/2007 4:31:19 PM
i vote no on avatars as wellin some threads it'd be the same 2 over and overcrazy j should sell this junt to facebook...i bet they'd buy it]
6/13/2007 6:42:03 PM
TWW is dull looking... it needs more grafix and color.
6/13/2007 9:05:45 PM

6/18/2007 4:41:31 PM
^ fine then.... you bring in some real world data and try to put a value on this place I'm more than willing to discuss flaws with my reasoning, but the data I put up is indicitive of real website sales and not just percieved value or obvious personal bias.
6/18/2007 4:46:27 PM
he's right in that you'd be comparing the acquisition of Starbucks and a local coffee house. MySpace had a lot of brand value beyond just standard ad revenue and membership.
6/18/2007 5:55:47 PM
^ That's not an entirely fair statement. According to statistics (http://www.alexa.com/) MySpace was ~20% of it's current size when it was bought. Myspace still had a lot of room to grow when it was bought. It wasn't yet a global name and it had an unproven revenue model. I'm not saying that it sat anywhere nearly as low as a place like TWW does, but it was still just a growing fad when news corp. dropped a load of chas to aquire it. It would be akin to buying starbucks in 1995 as opposed to 2001.TWW, powered by a real marketing plan, has the potential to be profitable enough that a potential slae could solicit the kind of offers I've already mentioned. I'm not saying it would take a billion dollars to buy this place, but I don't think $100,000 is unreasonable.
6/18/2007 11:43:11 PM
MySpace had national (even international) appeal.i wouldnt even call TDub's appeal "regional"sure, theres a few geographical outliers (like me), but generally speaking this site only attracts a very small subset of a the already small Raleigh NC market.i have no idea what its worth, but i dont think you can base the numbers on MySpace.
6/19/2007 1:47:43 AM
i can see this place pulling half a milits got like 29k registered people...i bet even with no aliases thats still prolly 27k people
6/19/2007 6:41:32 AM
haha, no way is that 29k or 27k mark even close.[Edited on June 19, 2007 at 9:27 AM. Reason : particularly if you count the users who looked once and never came back again]
