Looking to sell the TL... more of a feeler but figured I would toss it out. '03 Suzuki TLR 1000- the big brother to the GSXR. It's the V-Twin rather than the gsx 4 cyl. Bike has a ton of torque, lot of fun to ride and a little bit lighter than its counter part. Yoshimura R-3 full exhaust (full kit not just slip ons), adjustable steering stabalizer, Reeper graphics on tank. 9000 miles, one owner with new rear tire and seat.I would like to get $7000 out of it...

eh... I won't argue it- I will say that through 2 there are "maybe" a small handfull that can keep up with it

off the line, there won't be much difference between most sportbikes...they're generally kinda wheelie-limited. the TL, from a standstill, is probably a lot easier to launch well, due to the V-twin powerband.i didn't really mean as a drag racer, though, anyway.

very clean bike, but need some better pictures to do it justice.
6/7/2007 11:09:35 PM
are you the guy always riding that thing in flip flops?
6/8/2007 2:29:28 AM
is this a good beginner bike?
6/8/2007 9:42:48 AM
^^^ The pics kinda suck and i didn't have a chance to wax her up before I took them... There is not a ding or scuff on the bike- ONly thing it could really use is the pipes buffed and shined.^^ ^ I have had two kids interested in the bike that wanted to run it as a first bike because it "looked cool".... fuckin baffling how dumb some people are.
6/8/2007 10:03:41 AM
how can a guy that rides a sportbike around in flip-flops call someone else dumb?

I also have a 2003 Honda 919 for sale... only 2000miles, completely naked- could be a great stunt bike for the right person... terrible pic. but if you are interested let me know and I will take a few more.[Edited on June 8, 2007 at 12:04 PM. Reason : .]

6/8/2007 1:34:46 PM
7000?!?!?! WTFtl's have lots of torque. only good for one thing.. oh and u can be lazy with shifting
6/8/2007 1:38:29 PM
yours aint no arghhh
6/8/2007 1:40:17 PM
yeah im puttin' an r engine in it tho cuz i fucked up 1st gear on mine.and the 97 tls has more balls than the r. faster 1/4 and it's lighter too besides if u were to race a ss in a straight line, on the tl u'd be able to take a 600cc and maybe keep up with a 750... 1000's hahaha forget about it. yeah, that's pretty much my thoughts on the TL-R. awesome wheelie machine...mediocre at best at pretty much anything else.and it wouldn't keep up with a new 750. it wouldn't even keep up with a 750 when it came out. i think it would probably be close to a new 600...prob just a tick faster in a straight line.I remember riding with my friend r1pimpin (who I believe was on his R6 that day, and is the fastest person I've ever ridden with...only person I've ever flat out not been able to keep up with) and another dude on a TL-R. we got off the highway and pulled over...I told the dude on the TL-R "ok, these are the twisties...don't worry if we pull ahead of you--don't wreck trying to ride with us...we'll wait at every intersection."he was like "Nah, I'll be fine...I'll keep up."well, we headed down about a half mile straightaway into the first corner that was marked at 25 mph...by the end of the straight, I'd pulled noticeably ahead of him...out of that first corner, he was a speck in my mirror, and by the time I exited the next corner, he was completely out of sight. I kept going for about 5-10 minutes, then just pulled over and turned my bike off until I finally heard them coming.^ hey, is it true that the TL-S had really fucked up handling?[Edited on June 8, 2007 at 2:03 PM. um i have the worst year for the tls... most hp and torque with the biggest heads...but worst handling components. shitty rear damper shock and sub par front end. it took some getting used to. turn in feels heavy from the stock damper... but otherwise im able to keep up and beat most of my buddies on their crotch rockets.we ride at a face pace. but we dont do knee dragging.i ran a 06 gsxr 600 on the highway 70-80 to top speed and every run i would pull ahead easily and my top speed was noticeably higher too bc i would just keep on pulling. the brakes are ok at best. u can swap in 6 piston tlr brakes but i havent gotten around to that.the tlr received forged internals, 6 spring (compared to 5 spring) clutch, dual injectors per cylinder and more aggressive cams. they have about 10 more hp than the 97tls and around 15-20 more than the 98+ tls's..but they are also notieably heavier bikes utilizing different frames, altho tlr and tls engines are interchangeable which is why im doing the swap.I like the bike and i've owned quite a few bikes over the past 3 years. u get used to it quirks and learn to live with, or love them. i enjoy owning something a lil different altho my next bike down the line would be some kinda liter i4. this bike i guess i will end up staying with since it isnt worth much to resell.[Edited on June 8, 2007 at 3:17 PM. Damn, y'all shat all over this guy's thread!
6/8/2007 8:01:59 PM
haha- I know right...anyone interested?
6/11/2007 1:10:01 PM
not for 7 fuckin k
6/11/2007 7:49:34 PM
yeah man, i try to refrain from doing this, but since it's already been said a couple of times--I think $7000 is WAY too high. I haven't priced TL-Rs, because I have no interest in ever owning one, but $7000 will buy a lot of motorcycle on the used market. That much money will easily get you, say, a nice 954RR (possibly with money left over) or a nice 600 (definitely with lots of money left over).
6/11/2007 11:59:33 PM
I mean- I'm willing to work some on the price but i think it is "relatively" fair... U don't see a lot of the TL's out there anymore (90% gsx) and although there isn;t a ton of aftermarket the little bit i've done cost me a few pennies... book is relative and I do understand this is Tdub...
