ok so this is after i reboot the computer and all i did was open task manager and windows paint to paste the stuff.is it normal to have 56 processes??

oh and i have uninstalled AIM i just need to reboot for it to take action. im thinking a lot of that stuff is spyware/adware crap.maybe a lot of porno stuff. who knows

Haven't looked much at it but your system is infected with at least some spyware.Description:rlvknlg.exe is a process belonging to RelevantKnowledge Adware. This process should be removed to ensure your personal privacy.

yeah ive got a thinkpad.cool. i guess im gonna go one by one and look up the processes that i dont know what they are.i just got the symantec antivirus 10 from ncsu website, and right after i posted my last message, it popped up with

What about svchost.exe? I have it listed six times in my processes, some by SYSTEM and some by NETWORK or LOCAL SERVICE.I remembering hearing something about it a long time ago...

I'd run Spybot S&D on it and get any easy stuff out, then pick through it by hand to find anything else.Thinkpads do run a lot of shit though. My T43 has about 55-60 on bootup.

to my knowledge (and google) svchost is a normal process and scvhost is a virus (notice the switched lettering)
