bribery charges:

It's about time they indicted that bastard.I liked how all of congress (Republicans and Democrats) was up in arms because they searched his office. Nothing worse than lawmakers who think they are above the law.
6/4/2007 2:01:02 PM
^ Yep. And anybody that defends a public servant having $90,000 in his freezer is a fool.

6/4/2007 2:10:34 PM
so is there some sort of controversial topic here? the guy fucked up and deserves to be indicted.[Edited on June 4, 2007 at 2:15 PM. Reason : .]
6/4/2007 2:14:50 PM
^ You mean like the posting orgy you lefties had during the Foley scandal? There must've been five or six threads about it--and I'll just bet you posted your share.
6/4/2007 2:32:20 PM
as the original poster, you supplied absolutely no topic to talk about. you just posted a story and some rolly eyes.[Edited on June 4, 2007 at 2:35 PM. Reason : .]
6/4/2007 2:35:22 PM
you mean to tell me that politicians on both sides of the aisle are corrupt?surely you jest
6/4/2007 2:37:36 PM
^^ Um. . .are you serious? The topic is self-evident--sorry I didn't draw you a map.
6/4/2007 2:52:51 PM
Im by no means defending the guy, he fucked up and needs to be punished. But, your weak argument about the foley scandal just to try and rub this thing in our face because we are democrats is pretty sad. I know there are corrupt politicians in the democratic party, just like there are in the republican party, theres no secret there. On the same hand, a guy stealing 100k does not warrant the same amount of discussion and damnation as someone who tried to bang underage pages.
6/4/2007 2:53:58 PM
^^go ahead and draw me a map. i really don't see what you suggest is the topic at hand here beyond a story that was discussed plenty a year ago. so he was indicted today? okay.
6/4/2007 2:55:41 PM
6/4/2007 2:58:33 PM
WE NEED TO MAKE THIS STORY DISAPPEAR QUICK
6/4/2007 2:58:56 PM
^^^^ I don't give a fuck about Foley. You made my point for me--scandals happen regardless of party affiliation. But many here seem to think that only Republicans can be evil or criminal--and the multiple Foley threads were evidence of that.^^^ I'm not pointing out shit to you--stop trying to make me do your work. I told you the topic is self-evident. If you can't figure it out, then too bad.[Edited on June 4, 2007 at 3:02 PM. Reason : .]

I fail to see how this is on the same page as the Foley scandal. By all accounts this guy was buried by the Dems since day 1. The only big thing was the whole Congress wanted to be placed above the Law. Which is of course bullshit.
6/4/2007 3:11:18 PM
^ I wasn't even comparing the scandals--I was simply comparing the responses to the scandals. But that's not the point of the thread--I made no mention of Foley in the initial post. Back on the Jefferson topic, please.
6/4/2007 3:23:59 PM
^^^ Did you even read that article?
6/4/2007 3:28:04 PM
WHAT'S THE TOPIC? You've supplied no topic to actually talk about beside the fact that this happened. and if you had been paying attention you would have known pretty much all that they know now about this case a year ago (aside from the indictment)
6/4/2007 3:28:13 PM
^ I think he just wants to bash the black caucus.
6/4/2007 3:28:38 PM
^^ and ^
6/4/2007 3:34:52 PM
so all you've done so far in this thread is copy/paste stories, troll and post rolly eyes. bravo.
6/4/2007 3:58:03 PM
in all fairness sarijoul...if you dont think this is a worthy topic to discuss, nobody is making you post in this thread
6/4/2007 3:58:38 PM
i really would like to know what this "self-evident" topic is that we're supposed to discuss, because apparently no one else has figured it out either.
6/4/2007 4:02:12 PM
its a political scandal...political threads usually go in soap box...i've seen a helluva lot less relevant threads go many pages in TSB
6/4/2007 4:04:51 PM
give hooksaw a while to respond, he's busy backpedaling.

^I dont get it man, you seem like you would be a reasonable person in real life, so I dont understand how you can support the neocons and the bullshit that is just spewing out of their contingency. They would probably have you brought up on charges of supporting terrorism for buying weed that would have been allegedly trafficked by al qaeda if they saw some of those pictures in your gallery.and you know most of the rappers you like probably hate bush too.Just shit like that, I dont get it?[Edited on June 4, 2007 at 4:53 PM. 6/4/2007 5:16:19 PM
^ Yeah, and what was it again that Clinton did to make the terrorists attack the WTC in 1993?
6/4/2007 5:21:15 PM
I guess the United States as a whole wasn't living under Islamic Law

Nail that douchebag to the wall.
6/4/2007 6:41:02 PM
Well, it looks as if the Dems' diversion of the firings of those federal prosecutors didn't grasp the news long enough to keep this one under wraps.Hopefully, Congressional Democrats will deny John Boehner's request that this be investigated, resulting in him keeping his seat. I'm sure that'll help them with that approval rating problem they are having (you know, the one LOWER than the President's). I'm sure it'll also help them with the elections in '08.Go DEMS!!!1

^^ Yeah, some are calling it "freezer burn," too. I just want to point out that I think it's wrong to brand a whole party--Democrat, Republican, or others--by one or a handful of scandals. And I believe that the Democrats have used the recent Republican scandals for political gain--the Republicans have done so in the past, too. But two wrongs don't make a right. The worst part of this, though, is the group of Democrats who shamefully defended Jefferson--who is a crook, make no mistake about it--despite overwhelming evidence against him. But don't forget this scandal's connection to the politics of Nigeria and other African countries:
