i seriously had no idea such a technology existed. this could help asuage drought in parts of the world that really need it. i know nothing about his except for a few articles. i only heard about it recently because China wants to make it rain days before the olympics to clear out some pollution:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_seedinghttp://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/opinion/letters/sfl-pbmail908may12,0,3749706.story?coll=sfla-news-lettershttp://www.spokesmanreview.com/local/story.asp?ID=192502what say you?

It only works when the conditions are right. For example, right now in North Carolina the air is too dry for seeding to be productive (at least it was; humidity was down in the 20% range; I believe it is going to rain all by itself today).

this is old and was created in the 60s. seems like 4 of these threads have been made in 2 months. like every alteration to nature this has its consequences. you have to have clouds to do it first of all and if people in arizona made all the clouds rain the people in new mexico are going to be pissed because they stole thier clouds.the best reason for this being made was to rain out a hurricane before it reaches land but they tried this on a hurricane headed to florida in the 60s and once they seeded it the hurricane took an enexpected turn and dumped more rain on cuba than it would have without seeding and killed alot of people.

^^ Except that your 'probem' lies with something that never actually happened--neither seeding nor any other human activity has ever altered the path of a hurricane.I will agree that it is worth staying away from seeding for political and legal reasons, since such activities could (and has) create the perception that seeding has significantly affected the course of hurricanes or that one region has 'stolen' the rain of another region.^ What you're doing is making shit up.[Edited on June 2, 2007 at 1:23 PM. actually i'm not. again i never said the path was altered. all they did was make it dump its moisture out quicker. once a hurricane loses its moisture it dies.[Edited on June 2, 2007 at 1:35 PM. Reason : it was done 1 time. in the 60s. ]

After re-reading your posts several times, I think that I understand what you're trying to say.I know that hurricane seeding has been attempted multiple times in the past. However, I disagree that what you're saying actually happened and am still leaning heavily towards you just making shit up. Can you be more specific than 'the 60s'?[Edited on June 2, 2007 at 1:53 PM. ^^ Do you have a link? From how I understood the technique, it shouldn't work on a hurricane.[Edited on June 2, 2007 at 1:52 PM. Reason : ^]
