Probably going to get flamed for this but here goes.....Been trying to figure out how to break the tires loose on the back of the bird but it just will not do it. Im figuring it must have a TCS but there is no button to deactive it like on most WS6's. There is a "TCS off" light on the dash that does come on when you start it and turns off once you get going. There is also a TCS / ABS relay that even if you pull out doesnt get you anywhere.I know the verts are a bit heavier than the rest but i refuse to believe that the car doesnt have the power to break the tires loose if it does not have traction control. The clutch is a little soft but its not slipping.Ive talked to quite a few people on LT1 forums and such and they seem to be stumped.

almost anything with a manual transmission has the power to break the rear tires loose (other than some trucks)[Edited on May 28, 2007 at 7:57 PM. Reason : and front drivers...they break the front tires loose, haha]

yea no button. i dont get it. although i just pulled off the panel where the button would be (where the vert top button is) and noticed there is a pigtail there that looks like it would be for the TCS switch.trying to go through the haynes manual and see if there is a good enough wiring diagram that will show me how to short out the switch.[Edited on May 28, 2007 at 8:09 PM. that's strange. sounds like you might have found the issue though. the switch is located where the power top switch is. for some reason maybe one never got installed?

well ive eliminated 2 out of the 5 wires, the two eliminated are for ilumination. cant seem to get it to work jumping any two of the remaining three although im not really using the right tools for the job.

well, i think have verified through the lt1 forum that the car doesnt have a TCS.then the question becomes why does it appear to be impossible to break the tires loose? soft clutch?

you're not driving like a pussy, are you?i mean, check the easy stuff first. what RPM are you dropping the clutch at?
5/28/2007 8:48:45 PM
lol, no. bout 3000 - 3500 and feathering out quickly. shouldnt need to dump the clutch or have much more in the rmn range i wouldnt think[Edited on May 28, 2007 at 8:51 PM. Reason : spelling]

just slide your foot off the clutch. quit being a p00n.
5/28/2007 8:54:33 PM
^^ well, it hasn't worked yet, has it? giving it less power sure isn't gonna do it. [Edited on May 28, 2007 at 8:58 PM. Reason : you are flooring it as you let off the clutch, right? 3500 is just where you start.][Edited on May 28, 2007 at 8:58 PM. Reason : asdf]
