I'm watching clips of him on youtube. Mostly Letterman performances. I liked the song "Tango till their sore" off Rain Dogs. It looks to be his highest rated album. Guess I should get that one first? Also any live albums to recommend?

^ yeah, Rain Dogs is a pretty good place to start because it includes a few of his different styles. Mule Variations is my favorite Tom Waits album. For an early album featuring more of his "ballad-style" I would definitely check out Closing Time.As far as live albums go, Big Time is what you want, but I would definitely listen to the three studio albums listed above (and maybe some others) first.

^I had tried in the past. Once I even tried sitting through his VH1 storytellers show (and I fucking LOVE Storytellers) but I just couldn't take his voice and the fucked up songs. Now I like it. Odd how shit like that happens.
