I just got my official transcript in the mail and I need it for the job I will be starting on June 11 as proof that I graduated and got my degree. My question is that the envelope has a seal along the back with the NCSU registrar's signature over it and I am wondering if the "official" status of the transcript is voided if I open it? I want to open it and make sure that everything is correct on it before I give it to my employer. Anyone who has gotten their transcript before, have you opened it before giving to an employer?

i would not open it....i never have.if you're really worried about it not being correct, request an "unofficial" transcript to look over. im pretty sure they are free.[Edited on May 24, 2007 at 3:35 PM. Reason : g]

Well I can view the unofficial transcript online and everything checks out there. I ordered this official one the day that my degree was posted online so I'm pretty sure it is good.

I've never had an employer ask for a transcript. that would be bad, as my resume says I had a 3.83 GPA.

if it was good online, it is def good on the official.when i went in to reg&rec to request one in person, there system had my minor on there, while online the minor wasn't even posted yet
