other than GOODWILL OR SALVATION ARMY? My mom will not donate to either so we are looking for other non profits like local churches or shelters that are in need of clothing...some everyday clothes and some business wear.....shoes, dresses, pants, shirts, skirts, suits, ties....I've already got a lot of stuff going to Abbeygail's Closet (a non-profit who's $$$ goes directly to The Women's Center) but my stepfather's needs somewhere to go.Also, does anyone know if Habitat for Humanity takes donations to be used in their houses? My mom is remodeling and has stuff like a marble sink and toilet and fixtures...etc.One last thing:all this stuff is in Lexington so the Winston, Greensboro, Asheboro and surrounding areas are all up for consideration.Any help is appreciatedThanks![Edited on May 22, 2007 at 5:34 PM. ^^Thanks for that information. I was not attempting to say Goodwill or Salvation Army were turning a profit. My mom has her own reasons for not wanting to donate to these two organizations.I'll edit my first post so it is not confusing.[Edited on May 22, 2007 at 5:32 PM. Reason : .]

Oh and I donated all of the doors from my old house to HFH. Just call the local office, they'll pick them up if they have a truck available

Oh and there are a lot of companies called like "new professionals" or "fresh start" that are looking for business clothing donations. they give them to people who can't afford nice clothes for an interview or for their dress code requirements.

The Brooks Ave. Church of Christ (on the corner of Brooks and Rosedale I think) takes all kinds of clothing and stuff that they can redistribute. I don't go there, but my wife and I have given all kinds of stuff to them. They seem to be a pretty well known place to go for clothing and such.
