I need to get a doctor in Raleigh. As I tend to see doctors rather often, I don't want to go blindly through a phone book and pick out a name. Any suggestions? I have BCBS insurance if that's significant to anyone...

Stay far, far away from Blue Ridge Family Physicians. God help you if you actually need to speak to someone with quickness. They've gotten too large and haven't realized it yet. I thought I needed to see a PHP for an ortho referral, so I made an appt. I found out I didn't need the appt, and spent over two hours on the phone trying to speak to a human to cancel. Dean Blakeley is AMAZING, but you need to secure your appointment early in the day. His staff books him in 15 and 30 minute increments, but he doesn't abide by those - he stays with his patients until both he and the pt are satisfied and happy. By noon, you're looking at least an hour wait. He used to be my parents' dr, and I needed an Rx immediately afterhours a couple months ago, and he called back, spoke with me, and called it in. I hadn't seen in him probably 12yrs.http://www.whsi.org/rock_quarry.html

My fiancee and I go to Cary Medical Group. She sees Dr. Ramen and likes her a lot.
