Im sick of it, its apparantly its so complicated and expensive to maintain and you need some kind of chemical degree to keep it up. So fuck it, lets have a cook out at my place and cut it up with sawzalls. Who's in?
5/21/2007 8:56:25 PM
in
5/21/2007 8:57:11 PM
why not just give it to me?
5/21/2007 8:57:59 PM
what kind of enjoyment/party would that be?
5/21/2007 8:59:43 PM
yeah this will be so worth iteveryone bring your pickup trucks and sawzalls
5/21/2007 9:20:02 PM
You should hitch it between two trucks and pull it apart. Then that would be an awesome party.
5/21/2007 9:29:10 PM
lets put some castors on it, fill it with water, mr. bubble, and loose women and drag it around my neighborhood!
5/21/2007 9:39:52 PM
you should get a 25lb sledge hammer and charge people $1 per swing & profit.
5/21/2007 10:08:36 PM
if we can get it out to the street, i'll bring the ramcharger or one of the derby cars to smash into it.
5/21/2007 10:12:34 PM
gonna need a compound mitre saw too
5/22/2007 8:15:25 AM
yeah, i can handle that.
5/22/2007 8:27:31 AM
^^^^ haha, do they even make a sledge that big? i second the idea of hitching it to a truck, filling it with loose women and maybe some water, and hauling it around the neighborhood.
5/22/2007 8:31:46 AM
^^ what year is your ramcharger? is it for sale? have you fucked it all up yet?
5/22/2007 8:32:51 AM
it's a 76. 318 with a 3 speed on the column. i've done some body damage to it, but it's pretty solid otherwise. it's in dire need of floorpans. i don't want to sell it, but everything is for sale for the right price.
5/22/2007 9:00:55 AM
i've still got a factory 4bbl intake, carb, and moroso valve covers for a small block mopar. $100 takes it all.
5/22/2007 9:02:54 AM
5/22/2007 9:05:52 AM
the chemistry is easy, i can show you how to balance it. what is wrong with the jet, what kind of pump does it have.
5/22/2007 9:23:34 AM
^^^^ yeah, i'm the same way...everything i have is for sale. that's not the kind of motivated seller i look for, though.and i really don't want a 3 on the tree for a daily driver (although i've never driven a mopar with that setup, i know i'd never want to drive the 3 on the tree chevys i've driven as DDs. fucking non synchro having, always wanting to get hung up between 1st and 2nd gear if you shift too quickly, pain in the ass bastards)[Edited on May 22, 2007 at 9:25 AM. ^^lol
5/22/2007 1:29:17 PM
I'm down for towing it around until it falls apart or tears off my tow kit.
5/22/2007 2:13:08 PM
i may have fixed it
5/27/2007 11:54:02 AM
lol no matter how fucked up it is people on craigslist will pay you for it. The chemicals are not THAT complicated. If I can keep mine balanced it really can't be that hard.
5/27/2007 5:43:14 PM
all you need is some bleach and some muriatic acid and you are good to go
5/27/2007 5:45:08 PM
well i had a leak too, think thats solved now, it wasnt as bad as i thoughtbut explain the muriatic acid to me again
5/28/2007 11:26:27 AM
Search google for the BBB method.Save you tons of money.Link: http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthread.php?t=1652[Edited on May 28, 2007 at 11:59 AM. Reason : made it easy with link]

the muriatic acid is to lower pH (the bleach will raise it), although if you have lots of greased up sweaty bathers you will probably have to keep your pH up. ive never used borax, soda ash is generally used to raise pH. you want a pH of 7.4-8.2 in a hot tub and at least 3 or 4 ppm chlorine. you can get a little floating chlorine feeder or just drop in an ounce of granular chlorine as required. (or use bleach) your alkalinity is what keeps your pH from jumping all around, you want an alkalinity of around 100 and you get this by adding baking soda. per 10k gallons:raise total alkalinity 10ppm use 1.5 lbs baking sodaincrease pH .4 use 8oz soda ashdecrease pH .4 use 16fl oz muriatic acidand i wouldnt use any stabilizer, just check your chlorine level often. stabilizer prevents the sun from burning off the chlorine but if you dont know what you are doing you run the risk of using too much then all of your chlorine is combined chlorine and not free available chlorine so it looks like you have a lot of chlorine in your tub but its not actually doing anything and all kinds of nasty shit is growing in your water. drain the tub when the water starts to get cloudy from dissolved solids. if you head over to a pool supply company they will give you everything you need.4let me know if you have any problems, my billing rate is $70/hour [Edited on May 28, 2007 at 12:25 PM. 5/28/2007 12:16:10 PM
its a hot tub that lives under a cover and usually dosent see much sunand its way less than 10k gallons
5/28/2007 12:45:39 PM
yeah, the charts are all per 10k gallons so thats what i have memorized. just divide out for your gallonage (youd have to look it up, it will be a few hundred probably)
5/28/2007 3:58:50 PM
im in [Edited on May 28, 2007 at 4:31 PM. Reason : I need my shoes and hat anyways]
5/28/2007 4:30:00 PM
270 gallons[Edited on May 28, 2007 at 4:39 PM. Reason : ryan you can come get your shit whenever man]
5/28/2007 4:37:59 PM
yea i might roll out on the scoot hahah
5/28/2007 4:43:28 PM
if you dont mind spending a little money to do it right, bromine is the way to go. its effective over a larger temperature range, it is effective as combined bromine, and it stays around. bromine is the standard for maintaining hot tubs and spas.
5/28/2007 6:50:05 PM
i dont want to get out my periodic table just to have the hot tub
5/28/2007 7:28:34 PM
then bromine is the way to go, its idiot proof
5/28/2007 10:26:14 PM
can i buy it easilyim going to fill it and fire it up in the next few days, i got all the shit washed out of it but i will need to scrub it once after i confirm that it still works then i can build the cover and then i suppose i can finally refill it and then play with chemicals
5/29/2007 12:25:19 AM
just but an insulated cover, they're like $300
5/29/2007 1:42:05 AM
my dogs will DESTROY it. like they did the last one.

5/29/2007 8:06:24 PM
how about if we strap it to a creeper and tow it to the dump?
5/30/2007 11:40:42 AM
soon as you get that shit runnin, i'm gonna dump laundry detergent in it
5/30/2007 12:11:38 PM
haha yeah. although dawn works better
5/30/2007 12:55:43 PM
why ya gotta give him ideas?
5/30/2007 1:00:12 PM
not good for the pump and filter (well i dont know if it hurts element filters the same as high rate sand)
5/31/2007 8:46:02 PM
Im putting my vote in for dragging it around filled with loose women.
5/31/2007 9:13:58 PM
^^that's why they make antifoam
5/31/2007 9:22:22 PM
that undoes the problem, it doesnt make it good for the pump
5/31/2007 9:47:17 PM
