2007 Draft Lottery is on May 22 and the 2007 NBA Draft is on June 28Hopefully the Bobcats can grab the 1st or 2nd pick and get Durant or Oden, if not we should pick around 8th and then again at 22 from Toronto.an interesting mock draft here, http://www.nbadraft.net/#ESPNs coverage here, http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2007/indexThe Chinese prospect Yi Jianlian stock is rising fast right now, as is Corey Brewers. I wouldnt mind having either of these guys and possibly Julian Wright, Brandan Wright, or Al Horford if we cant get Oden or Durant.

oh, i hope the bulls get lucky!
5/21/2007 8:47:25 AM
gtfo but seriously, its a good thing they signed Big Ben, haha, notI honestly dont care who gets anyone as long as the Bobcats can grab Durant or Odenhell they can take McBob with the 22nd pick if they get them and I wouldnt care.
5/21/2007 8:51:23 AM
anyone wanna take bets on the bobcats taking wright way too high?
5/21/2007 8:57:11 AM
well they wont get the chanceHe is predicted at 3 to 5if we dont get pick 1, 2, or 3 then we pick 8th as long as no one with less of a chance at winning the lottery get ahead of usif that happens we could be picking 9th, 10th, or 11thWright wont be there at 9, 10, or 11 im sure and the only chance of us taking him is if we get the 3rd pick and I think with the way things are going right now we would take Yi Jianlian or Corey Brewer with the 3rd pickso yeah, i'll take your bet that they wont pick him high (as in 3rd)
5/21/2007 9:02:53 AM
I was really hoping we could get Brewer in this draft if we didnt pick top 3. Looks like thats out the window. If we get a top 2 pick we're only 2-3 seasons away from being Eastern Conference contenders. If we pick 8th and get someone who can help us we should be a playoff team next year.

nah the Ben Wallace signing is pretty much disastrous.Chicago had a nucleus that had the potential to be championship contenders. Now they're straddled with an aging player with limited ability and an unmovable contract. They would have been better off keeping Chandler at 2/3rd the price or signing a post player that could help them offensively. As it is now they'll be lucky to get out of the first two rounds for the next 3-4 seasons more than once.[Edited on May 21, 2007 at 11:29 AM. 5/21/2007 11:29:07 AM
well yeah, he is is limited, but he's still somewhat productive with what he does best (even though his numbers are dropping from his peak years)...i think he'll still be of fair quality for another year or two, when he could be used as trade bait
5/21/2007 12:18:17 PM
Personally, I'd rather Charlotte not take an international player because there is always the question mark of how he will perform against NBA competition. If we can't get one of the top two, I say go for Horford and then Noah
5/21/2007 12:28:46 PM
its gonna be tough to trade an aging guy with declining skills who is becoming a dinosaur under the new rules. Particularly when he has a long term deal at $15 million per season. One dimensional defenders just aren't as important with the new handchecking rules and he's no longer the dominant rebounder/shot blocker/defender that he once was.His total ineptitude offensively puts too much of the scoring burden on Hinrich/Gordon/Nocioni to make their jumpshots.Without an offensive post presence I don't see the Bulls getting it done. Quick look at their cap situation:Hinrich's extension kicks in next season (5yrs ~$47mil)Luol Deng and Ben Gordon have two more seasons before they can test free agency. (Both likely to get max deals or damn close to it)Ben Wallace has three seasons left at ~$45 millionThey've got Sefolosha and Tyrus Thomas locked in at nice prices for the next few seasons.Nocioni is a free agent this year and will probably get in the 6-7 million range. I think he'll stick around he's a fan fave in Chicago. They've got to find a viable replacement for PJ Brown unless he agrees to come back for a small price. It seems to me they'd be best off moving Deng and a pick for a guy like Pau Gasol. The draft order is really going to determine their future. If they can get Durant they are golden but otherwise they need to make moves quick before their cap flexibility is completely destroyed by extensions.

5/21/2007 12:36:23 PM
I think Id honestly rather pick 8th than 3rd.Since 3-8 is so similar I'd rather save the $ so we can go after a free agent. Not a fan of locking up another iffy NBAer like Morrison to a big deal.
5/21/2007 12:40:49 PM
Not highly likely, but Brewer could be there at the 8 spot. Oden, Durant, Horford, Yi, Noah, B & J Wright, Green, Hibbert, and Mike Conley could all go before him. It's pretty unlikely ... and if I get the third pick, I'm taking Brewer ... but just maybe he falls to them.If not, I'd take Al Thornton at 8. Guy seems to be pretty good all-around.And can somebody tell me why Brandon Rush isn't projected to go any higher?? Good athlete, damn good 3-point shooter, good defender, and great size for a 2-guard. Yet he's projected low 1st round/early 2nd. I don't get it.
5/21/2007 12:44:06 PM
agreed^Plus it lessens the chance we'll get B Wright, or Noah ... who I despise.[Edited on May 21, 2007 at 12:59 PM. Reason : ]
5/21/2007 12:59:16 PM
In no fashion what so eva should the bobcats take another UNC player... III
5/21/2007 3:54:50 PM
^i agree
5/21/2007 4:25:47 PM
not endorsing it, but if we get the 3rd pick I'm almost sure we'll take Wright
5/21/2007 4:35:47 PM
Wright has a lot of potential but i think Horford is a better pick
5/21/2007 4:37:55 PM
^Then we will be stuck as mediocre college town team for another few years. We need ready talent that can provide numbers/stats/victories. III
5/21/2007 4:38:28 PM
i hate the tarheels as much as anybody but i would muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch rather have branden wright than fucking noahi'd rather have horford than either of them tho[Edited on May 21, 2007 at 4:39 PM. Reason : .]
5/21/2007 4:38:57 PM
also Wright should have came backHe could have been the consensus #1 overall pick next year
5/21/2007 4:39:05 PM
you always go if you're a top 10 lockstarts the clock ticking on your rookie contract and the ensuing 100 mil deal that potentially follows
5/21/2007 8:22:26 PM
i thought the bobcats were guaranteed no worse than the 8th pick
5/21/2007 11:36:12 PM
^ no, we're 8th in the pecking order which means no worse than the 11th pick (in the highly unlikely scenario that three teams behind us leapfrog us)I dont feel like doing the math but theres like a 70% chance we'll be picking either 8th or 9th.
5/21/2007 11:38:31 PM
yeah Im just praying we get the #1 or 2 pickif not, we had better not draft Noahwe cant have another guy that cant score on our team
5/22/2007 7:59:38 AM
Pick % chance 1st 1.9 2nd 2.2 3rd 2.7 8th 72.5 9th 19.6 10th 1.1 11th .01
5/22/2007 11:53:18 AM
okay so its more like 90%They really need to weight the balls a little bit less. The tanking this season was downright absurd.
5/22/2007 12:09:20 PM
the tanking made me sicki hope we get a top 2 pick because we played it out and we deserve the helpnot the fucking Celts or Grizz who are an embarassment to the NBA
5/22/2007 12:11:50 PM
Fate probably won't let the Cats have a top 2 pick, but I'd love it if we got it. That being said, I'm seeing us around 7-10. If we choose Noah, I'm going to become a Magic fan.Yi won't slide to us, neither will Horford or Brewer. I'd take Julian Wright or Roy Hibbert and think they would fit well with the other Cats[Edited on May 22, 2007 at 12:27 PM. Reason : \/ thanks for setting me straight, bro]

since when does our nucleus include sean may
5/22/2007 1:23:40 PM
this guys is an assholeand if you ever hear him talk, he sounds like a flaming faghe also had us drafting Mike Conley Jr.
5/22/2007 1:25:30 PM
pray peopleand also, i wouldnt care if we picked 11th if its so the Grizz and Celts dont pick 1st or 2nd
5/22/2007 1:31:48 PM
i'd pretty much bet 100% of my assets that oden goes 1st and durant goes 2nd
5/22/2007 1:37:56 PM
haha, bobcats fans
5/22/2007 1:58:28 PM
Root, root root for the hoooome teeeeeam
5/22/2007 2:06:17 PM
I really think the Celtics will get the first pick. I mean, I think the NBA wants the Celtics to get back to those glory days of the 60's-80's, and giving them the number one pick will help them.
5/22/2007 4:18:29 PM
i just read that article hunter before comin here. what a douchebag. charlotte's a great expansion city, there's just this harboring resentment toward the hornets that wont be able to disappear until the bobcats become more competitive. i think next year is the year that starts to happen.
5/22/2007 5:31:47 PM

Portland wins the Oden sweepstakes
5/22/2007 8:54:18 PM
Sending both Oden and Durant to the west coast.
5/22/2007 8:55:16 PM
bwahahahahahahahahahaha at the Celtics fan that they showed earlier that had a Celtics jersey with Oden's name on the back.i'd like for the Bobcats to get Corey Brewer. if the Bobcats would pick up Julius Hodge from the D-league I'd go to his first game and show him that plenty of people from State still care about him and want him to succeed in the league.[Edited on May 22, 2007 at 8:58 PM.
