So my friends and I are planning on camping on Carolina Beach this weekend. Got a couple of questions:1) It's first come first serve as far as campsites. If we didn't get there until 8:30 pm on Friday night, are we in danger of not getting one? Basically, are there usually a lot of people there during the summer?2) Alcohol is strictly prohibited in state parks. How strictly is this enforced at Carolina Beach? If you've been, did you take alcohol and did you have any trouble if so?3) Anything else you can recommend to a novice camper would be appreciated.

You had to have a metal container last year too. We had to leave the beach and buy one at Walmart

It isn't a state park, its maintained by the town of CB, and you can have alcohol, just no glass bottles.

just go camping at portsmouth island and do what you want

^ Not a bad idea except it's an extra 2 hours worth of driving to get there.
