Comparing a given subject to past Nazi actions or beliefs is quite logical. It may be tired and cliche, but it makes a lot of sense to bring something up that everybody can agree was wrong. Especiallysince you know everybody is going to nitpick the flaws of any analogy there is a comfort in usingHitler and his ilk, afterall who is going to defend Hitler ? Anyway limiting cases are useful in analyzingtheories, that is essentially what Hitler gives us, a limiting case for evil, the slippery slope but for real.

this is true. ppl don't want to accept the fact that they might have ordered the killing of millions of jews if they had been in the same situation. Hitler was an ordinary, rational human being (up until a point at least).
