it wont work unless you get it unlocked

there's people on craigslist that will do it locally.

there are do-it-yourself tools online that you can get. but it may just be easier to have someone do it for you, such as someone on CL.

They can, you just need it unlocked for Alltel.

in all honesty, why would you go from Verizon to Alltel?

They have pretty much identical coverage areas, excpet Verizon's also includes US Cellular towers.

Their plans are not that great, unless something they offer will work for you individually, let alone their customer service..

Sounds like you're going downhill.

Most of my friends have either alltel or Nextel. Verizon is pretty much crap, over priced, lame voicemail system, etc, etc. Not worth getting IMO

Definitely go Alltel or SprintNextel. Alltel gives you mobile to mobile to all Alltel customers and then on top of that the 10 number circle for anyone you call a lot thats not on Alltel.

With SprintNextel you can just get free incoming calls and wait for anyone who does not have a nextel to call u if they wanna talk.

i had Alltel for awhile, then switched to VZW b/c they were running some kind of dirt cheap special... been with them for 3ish years, and now they annoy the fuck out of me (dropped calls all over the Triangle) and I'm getting ready to switch again

as for the thread topic, get one of the data cables for the E815 on eBay -- you can do lots of fun stuff with the phone once the phone's unlocked you can switch providers w/o a problem

yea i got the USB cable for my verizon motorola e815 a few years back off ebay, along with the motorola phone tools. best decision i ever made for my phone and plan. now i upload and download my own pics/backgrounds, my own ringtones, my own mp3's, my own videos and i don't have to pay a cent to verizon. some hacks allow you to use the phone freely as a modem device for your computer (provided you have the unlimited data plan, otherwise you gotta pay). i love the e815, in fact, i've had this phone the longest out of any phone i've ever owned simply because of what i have enabled with it using the hacks.
