Know your competition - other neighborhoods
- where (in what other HOA’S) do people move and why?
- what are their strengths and weaknesses?

Know your resources
- money
- people
- contractors
- experts

Know your limits - what cannot be fixed
- understand what cannot be accomplished (change location)
- do not spend time and money on what cannot be changed
- avoid having defeats on your score card (a winning attorney does not want to take losing cases)

Know your focus
- Cannot be all things to all people
- Know who you are as well as who you are not

Know communications
- good work must be communicated
- people need to be informed
- vision has to be not only explained, but "sold"

Know your success
• communicate what “good” has been done
• have a party!
• be a winner !
