My friend applied to state almost two months ago and has not heard back from them. I was wondering when state usually let's their transfer students know whether or not they have been accepted.

If they're smart enough to attend college, you'd assume they'd be smart enough to call the admissions office to follow up on the application instead of indirectly asking a message board full of students that may or may not care.

I just transfered in last semester. They should be able to check the status of their application online at...https://wolfpaw.ncsu.edu/ if they filled it out online so check that first. They held mine till the end of the semester to check my grades for Fall 06. I was taking classes through lifelong education at NCSU so mine got accepted about a week after the semester ended. If you friend is taking classes somewhere else it may take longer to get the grades, which explains the delay. My advice with the admissions office is to find one person to talk to, and talk to that person only! Be nice, but find somebody worth a shit and hold them accountable. Seems to be the best way to get things accomplished at such a large school.[Edited on May 11, 2007 at 10:04 PM. Reason : ][Edited on May 11, 2007 at 10:05 PM. Call the admissions office. They should be able to tell you anything that the webpage can't. I transferred here from ASU 2 years ago. I kept waiting and finally called to find out they "lost" my application but had no problem cashing my application money Needless to say it took me calling everyday for a week to get some answers. After they "found" my app I got my notice online within a week that I got in.

he is probably on hold, meaning he might get in depending on how many transfers they accept....maybe he should stay at the community college?if he is one of the borderline transfers, he might have a wait....[Edited on May 12, 2007 at 2:05 PM. Reason : w]

That's what I told him last night. that he is probably borderline and it's gonna depend on thenumber of transfers they accept and the kids who leave this year

They are probably waiting on grades from the Spring semester. When I applied as a transfer, the admissions office lost my transcript. They eventually found it and I was accepted within 2 days of them finding it but that wasn't until July. So, I doubt your friend has anything to worry about as long as they are within the GPA requirements of the program which they applied to.
