Anyone have any recommendations of decent webcams that can act as video surveillance and record to the computer. What I want to do is setup 2 cams at my house to monitor the outside, and to have them motion activated, within say 20 or 30 feet, and to record to the comp. when it detects motion. Wireless would be a plus.

http://www.smarthome.com has some really awesome options...from infrared, colored night vision, waterproof etc...and they all can link to your computer and only start recording when they sense motion and stop when the motion is gone. I get their catalog sent to me every month or so and there are tons of cool stuff.[Edited on May 9, 2007 at 8:19 PM. Reason : www]

My buddy just bought a wireless webcam with a range of around 100yds. We are still trying to come up with something awesome to do with it when I get back down to Miami in 2 weeks.....all legal of course.

linksys has a wireless camera that you setup to work on your wireless network and it will record on movement. Also, you can set it up to where you can dial it up on the web and watch what's going on in almost real time.
