Trying to get a text box in an Access program I'm writing to just pull it's default value from a simple SQL query.. I've done plenty of list box's and combo box's and they're working fine but I need some fields that I can edit so I can submit them so the info will be saved... Basically it needs to pull the value from a table because it will then be edited and saved (updated).

Anyways, I'm doing it all thru macro's and access's built in stuff to avoid having to get into any real programming per say, is there something completely obvious I'm missing here? I've set the default value for the text box as =[updateTrack1(query)]![track1]. I've also tried setting it equal to one of the combo boxes for lack of anything else I could think of to try.. Neither work and I can't find much info online about what the hell to do, everything I've read says this should work or gives some examples of code to do it that way but I wanna do it this way damnit lol. Sorry if this is a stupid as hell question.

Thanks for any help,
Carson
