basically:kids are adopted with no family history.they have medical problems and need access to their parents medical history.No access is allowed.They're trying to pass a bill in Raleigh to help with this.

You know, I bet more people would be interested in politics if the bills were written a little more clearly.

So what do you guys think? Should a parent's total anonymity be witheld regardless of the circumstances?What's a better option?

Solution: More bureacracy.Someone goes through the parents health records with a Sharpie a-la "Above Top-Secret UFO Stuff" blocking out information that isn't needed for health reasons.

The one bill that I've seen and support (not SB111) would allow for the birthparents to provide the medical information and that would be it. Nothing more after that. The people from NC Coalition for Adoption Reform are a composition of birthparents and adult adoptees who want to either see their birthparent, or child they gave up for adoption. I don't like these bills at all.
