I wouldn't wait until june

if you really want to start it, go ahead and get the seeds you want and start them in peat cups

then just transplant into the garden when you can

I prefer to start most of my stuff from seed where I intend to grow it though

where are you moving to? you can always grow stuff in containers in/outside. i would still try if you want it b/c i mean a tomato plan is only $1 or so. if it dies, no big deal.

i'm moving back to raleigh for like 4 months. oh yea, is four months enough time to harvest, bc i'm moving again after that?

have someone here pick the plants up for you and look after them

right now there is a booth at the farmers market that has flats for $12 each, with 48 plants per flat, pick and choose

I can't grow my own for that price and will use them for all of my tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant next year

A flat in this case would just be a tray they use when they start the seeds out. If there are 48 seedlings per flat then it might be like a 12x4 tray, which would equal 48. They have individual little cups for each seed, that are attached so you can just pop them out of their container when you want to transplant.

I've got all my plants in peat cups until I get back to Charlotte. It's still ok to start them now, but I wouldn't wait too much longer.

[Edited on May 3, 2007 at 7:13 AM. Reason : Oh, and tomatos are really easy to grow. Plant, water, prune (once a week), they're hard to kill.]
