How does it work? I am taking an online class as well as working full time this summer....so if I want to take my exams at the McKimmon Center, do they have hours that are before/after "normal" business hours? If not...I need to hunt down someone to proctor soon...

As of tomorrow, the hours are 8a-5p. That office is being phased out, and will be gone August 31st - that's the reason for the reduced hours. Give them a call to see where you need to arrange after-hours proctoring. 515 2265Sometimes, if a class is large enough (CSC 114 is one of these), tests will actually be held in a room, with all your classmates. It's a scheduled event on our end, instead of just proctoring through adult credit. All of this, however, assumes you're in Raleigh. If you're in, say, Greensboro, someone in that office will assist you with finding a proctor where you are (typically a librarian at a nearby library, or someone at whatever college or university is near you), and mail the materials to them.

Here's the story with proctoring.Hours for the rest of exams are 8-8pm for the main office in McKimmon. If you are scheduled to take an exam at 6pm anytime between now and next Monday, it'll be in Room 6 of McKimmon. They have all tests and whatnot there, so go directly to that room. Again, that's just for those folks scheduled for 6pm. There's another computer lab rented out for Te$as that they're using for a bunch of the computer-based testing. Starting Summer session I, the hours are as followsM-W, 8am - 6pmThursdays 8am-8pmFridays 8am - 5pmFinals will have extended hours.DELTA is now doing the proctoring, but they'll staying and doing the proctoring in McKimmon until they can move into Venture IV at the start of Summer II.You're much better off emailing deproctor@ncsu.edu to schedule your exams. Trust me on this. The phone number is 515-2138 if you insist on going that route. All that's going to be moot by the beginning of Summer I, as they're moving to an online-scheduling setup so people can schedule, move, cancel, etc their testing. 24/7 access is going to save time for everyone involved.

I'm pretty sure if you live within a certain limit like an hour or so of Raleigh that you have to take them on campus or maybe it was just that way with the MA 241 class I took last summer.

i've taken de summer classes before, while staying in greensboro. i was able to use a proctor in town, and what i did was checked out the uncg library website. i think i found the first contact email and shot them an email about proctoring resources. the man that responded did it for me. super easy.
