I'd like to hear about people's gardens, whether they're vegetable, herb, flower, rock, whatever...I went out this weekend and got alot of herbs for my window boxes from Lowes... they were $3 a plant tho, which seems expensive to me Any ideas on when or how often to harvest herbs to freeze or dry?

Lots o' peppers, lots o' herbs. I dry about half of my herbs and I pretty much harvest them when I'm bored or when I want to plant new stuff, which I'm sure is not the best method

surely you can taste a difference between what you get at the grocery store during winter and a nice juicy one from the farmers market in summer...? I know I can. I havent really tried lots of different tomatos tho. All I know is the german johnsons do have an intense flavor..meaty but juicy too.
