Look at the news today and all you'll see is bad shit after bad shit... and never the good. The good, if discussed at all, is a quick review and moves on to 24/7 coverage of shootings and death.

So here's some articles that should appeal to all of us from the nerd to just normal joe.

Now I'm not saying that we should ignore the bad news but jesus christ I'm tired of hearing 30 minute coverage on a shooting and 2 on the good things in life.

Post other news sites that are informative but don't focus on just the bad.

Hope for sex-boost slimming pill

"Scientists are developing a pill which could boost women's libido and reduce their appetite.
The hormone-releasing pill has so far only been given to female monkeys and shrews who displayed more mating behaviour and ate less.

The team from the Medical Research Council's Human Reproduction Unit in Edinburgh believe a human version could be available within a decade. "

Toddler Calls 911 After Mother Collapses

(kind of a let down when you realize the kid is 4 years old, not a toddler...thanks WRAL...but still a good story)

Quote :
"FAIRBANKS, Alaska — A toddler knew to call 911 when his mother collapsed and lost consciousness, thanks to a children's book his grandmother had sent several months earlier.

Tony Sharpe was home in North Pole with his mother, Courtenay, on April 10, when she blacked out during a gall bladder attack.

The four-year-old went to the phone and reached the North Star Volunteer Fire Department by dialing the emergency number.

He told a dispatcher: "Mommy is sick. Mommy needs an ambulance. Mommy fell over. She is sleeping," according to a recording of the call.

"Can you call the ambulance?" he continued. "When Daddy gets here, Daddy will see if there's something wrong with mommy."

The boy then described the family's apartment building, which is white with a blue roof."

This is a happy thread. Don't bring pedophilia into it.
