Why aren't we using more and more of these? It's utterly absurd that we're still burning coal and oil for fuel. With the growing efficiency of wind and solar energy why do we continue to suckle at the teet of the mid-east for electricity.

I'm a pretty hardline libertarian and I'm at the point where I'd actually favor gov. subsidies for renewable electric production whether tidal, wind, solar, or geothermal. Wind is as efficient now as coal plants and immensely cleaner and actually offer a longterm solution.

I couldn't care less if we continue with gasoline consumption for cars, but the continued use of fossil fuels as the mainstay of our powergrid is assinine. This is to say nothing for our idiotic fear of nuclear plants...
