it's advisable to just pay separately and not worry about his rent if it's individual leases - if it's 3 names on the same lease though it isn't - this is why you get an individual lease...

I just hate being the bitch in this situation but its f'in annoying and I dont have time for this... my other roommate is on top on this all the time...

In fact, he cuts a check as soon as he knows its due.

Now the power is my other roommates name so maybe next time i should give him a run for the electric money I mean when he asks for it I bust out the check book ...

sorry for the "bad advice." i'm not saying the landlord should sort out the issues, i'm saying you pay your portion if all three of you are on the lease to protect you (somewhat) from a legal standpoint.

i would pay 2/3 the rent to the landlord and inform him the situation but that you are working on getting the money from him. this way you aren't in bad view in the eyes of the landlord and it might help buy you some time.

I've gotta say the 2x's I've lived with a chick its been pretty nice. I'm a clean person when it comes to common area's, dishes, trash and bathrooms(My personal space is a different story) and chicks are usually the same way... not to mention the ones I've lived with would go on baking binges and cook all kinds of awesome stuff and you just sit back and reap the benifits...

only downside is occasionally they may bang one of your friends (or vice versa) and then it becomes a little awkward... but those situations can be overcome...
