I'm looking for a specific quote in this section. It's the FroshKiller quote from wayyyyy back in the day. It's basically a call out for all the freshman that want to post about religion. I heard it might have been c/p within the last few months in here.Anyone know where it is? Unfortunately the original thread has been purged or otherwise lost to infinity. I posted this in CC too, but I know the regulars in here dont go to that section. Thanks in advance for any help.

This is as close as I can get you.http://www.brentroad.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=342035He posts a link to the thread that you're talking about. However, it no longer leads anywhere. My guess is that the thread is no longer on the server.[Edited on April 23, 2007 at 4:32 PM. Reason : wrong tags]

I'm looking for a quote where I crushed his quote. Honestly, that rant of his isn't that good, especially compared to some of his other stuff I've seen.

haha, people hate on that because of its successi've always thought it to be pretty good
4/23/2007 9:19:57 PM
How can anyone hate this post? It's a piece of tww history! And even if I don't agree with religion, it's not as if the man doesn't make a point.

^^It may be because of its success.I didn't think it was that great, but as more and more people became enamored of it, I was more and more not appreciating it.I think we all know a couple kids that it could apply to. And that's why we identify with it so much. But 1) it's only a couple kids and 2) they're really easy targets. Not that impressive.
4/23/2007 9:58:53 PM
actually, i know a lot of kids it applies toget over yourself; it's funny and pretty much right on

Who are these other people that theDuke866 claims hate on it because of its success? So far I'm the only I've seen who isn't like OMG THAT IS THE BEST EVER! CAN I SUCK YOUR DICK, FROSH?It's not that great. When I was a kid, I noticed that a couple of my older cousins came back a little more annoying at the familyreunion after their first year in college. And I watched as my aunts and uncles tolerated listening to their "new" ideas.I was a kid when I got over the fact that some kids get a little uppity when they learn something new, that they talk withoutthinking through things for themselves, that they're stupid sometimes. But Frosh is 24 or whatever and threatening to ripassholes open with a Bible. You don't think that's a little pathetic?(For example, I'm sure there's some guy reading Frosh's post, thinking, "Yeah, I've already thought of all that and moved on.Maybe I should post a 'Before you post that Before you post that religion thread' thread.")We can't all be at the exact same level of understanding when we communicate with one another. We're different agesand we come from different circumstances. It's not fair to fuss somebody out for not being at the same place as you. Andyou have to be a total douchebag to assume they're not going to think of something new, at least new to you.[Edited on April 23, 2007 at 10:22 PM. Reason : sss]

i love it. for a number of reasons. mainly because of the context in which it was delivered. at the time, The SB was overrun on a regular basis of the same-old-religion threads, day after day, week after week, and every fucking noob that came on said the whole damn thing over and over.it got to teh point taht it didnt matter if it was a pro-christian rant or an anti-christian rant, it was all the same bunch of :rolly-eyed-bullshit:you could just see frosh finally snapping as he typed out that stream-of-consciousness rant. sure it wasnt the most profound or elegant or witty. but it gave a few good kicks to the head, and it said exactly what so many of us were thinking. another reason i like it so much, is that if he had written it 10-15 years ago, it would have applied directly to myself[Edited on April 24, 2007 at 1:11 AM. ^ actually i lied.it weren't no 10-15 years ago when it might have applied to me. ... he could have even been writing it towards me at that very time.because i would often get in arguments about contraditions in the gospels.and i still do occasionally.[Edited on April 24, 2007 at 2:35 AM.
