before you say something along the lines of "look at the 4394827268934 other threads," understand that i'm not planning on building any time soon...in fact, not looking at building for a year or moreso why am i asking now? well, i'm trying to make a list of things i'd like to see out and affordable before i rebuild...for example:quad-core CPUs with dedicated graphics on-chip (so AGP/PCIe video is not necessary)my understanding is that the first of these is to be released for $texas this summer...i was thinking that in a year, they might be a little more affordableany other suggestions? i'm not THAT up on recent/upcoming computer technology (until tdub tells me about it, anyway) so i'm just trying to compile a listmaybe this thread is retarded, i don't know...but it only took about a minute to type and all of 1s to post, so i'm out very little

yeah directx 10 cards are a huge plusim curious how far away we are from the availability of faster main storage technology...i heard hybrid drives are in development (solid state and mechanical). how far away are those? how far away are [reasonably affordable] fully solid state hard drives?
