It has to be the most bizarre scenario I have ever witnessed, the fact that Duncan got tossed out of the game wouldn't have been thread worthy, but for simply laughing on the sidelines, I can't recall a player ever getting tossed for anything other than for something verbal. Within a span of less than two minutes or so the ref issues technical fouls on Duncan after he was benched for a a call he didn't agree with. I thought Duncan's body language wouldn't have been enough to warrant issuing a tech in my opinion. And yeah I normally don't watch the NBA but I randomly turned this game on ABC between the Spurs and the Mavs.

how interesting
4/15/2007 5:27:13 PM
its the NBAwho the fuck cares?
4/15/2007 5:29:31 PM
hopefully the refs wont do shit like this in the playoffs
4/15/2007 5:30:09 PM
yeah I know, but with college football, NFL and college basketball over, I am grasping for some entertainment in the sports realm. Even if it means regular season NBA games.but I think the ref was being a jerk, I have seen a lot worse that was never called in both the pro and college level. I mean how did the ref know Duncan was laughing at him?[Edited on April 15, 2007 at 5:37 PM. Reason : .]

if u kick an NBA player out of a game u better be ready to post his bail later that night
4/15/2007 6:14:00 PM
that was one of the most rediculous exchanges I ever sawhow the hell does a fat old, bald game official get on a power trip like that?!I mean the player egos are def out of control in the league but you don't eject a former mvp cause he made fun of you, what a blowhard
4/15/2007 6:24:03 PM
Tim Duncan could easily be the poster child of the NBA, this is ridiculous
4/15/2007 9:08:56 PM
you call a ref a piece of shit, you should be thrown out.
4/15/2007 9:25:06 PM
^ I don't know what you are talking about, Duncan never spoke a word when he got tossed.http://deadspin.com/sports/nba/tim-duncan-has-been-ejected-for-being-amused-252420.php

^ Even if that was true that had to occur either during the first technical or after Duncan was eject because the second came when Duncan was on the bench and video shows that he was saying nothing but just laughing. It was still unjustified.
4/15/2007 9:42:12 PM
it sounded to me that he got both technicals while on the bench, it had to be when he was leaving the game
4/15/2007 10:18:46 PM
duncans just workin on his image so he can get more respect
4/15/2007 11:27:26 PM
respek
4/15/2007 11:35:17 PM
Wow, I just saw the replay on Sportcenter, Crawford is a joke on a power trip, I hope he gets suspended. This makes Ted Valentine look like a sweetheart. Crawford is mad because Duncan (MVP and one of the NBA's few "Good Guys") shouted an obscenity on his way out?? Well, gee, you just tossed him for no reason, of course he's going to get his money's worth once he's realized he's gone, this is normal Mr. Crawford. If Crawford asked me to fight and I was Duncan, I may have called his bluff, Crawford is such a punk
4/16/2007 12:26:58 AM
When I saw what happened I was like what? How they hell they toss him over BS...I did not see and still do not see any reason for TD to be tossed...The Ref just looked like an ass... III

At the end of the season...I care... III
4/16/2007 10:47:54 AM
Yeah i saw this. You could definitely tell duncan was calling him a piece of shit when he was walking offbut that was after both technicals, he definitely didnt deserve the second one.
4/16/2007 11:01:29 AM
duncan is a big pothead
4/16/2007 11:05:45 AM
he was laughing?man, what a thug!
4/16/2007 11:24:16 AM
NBA games should only be two quarters, they are usually over by then anyways.
4/16/2007 11:35:51 AM
its the nba, who cares!duncan is dead to me now that he doesnt play for wake forest!
4/16/2007 11:36:00 AM
i never understand the people that click on a thread that is clearly about the NBA to say "its the NBA, who cares!!11one"i happen to be a big fan of the NBA and was tuned into the game when duncan got ejected. joe crawford is known for having a quick T whistle...but this was absurd. he should be fined or suspended for a game. fortunately, it was a game that had very little playoff implications, but it was still a rivalry game and both teams were playing hard.
4/16/2007 12:00:52 PM
its the NBA, who cares!!11one
4/16/2007 12:03:06 PM
it had some implications didnt it. I thought the spurs could catch the suns?
4/16/2007 12:09:00 PM
you're right...if the spurs won out and the suns lost out...then the spurs could have caught the suns. however, i can't see the suns losing consecutive games to the rockets (who have nothing to play for) and the clippers.
4/16/2007 12:12:18 PM
ahh yeah probably not. I wasnt aware of the requirements for it to happen.

I dont really follow soccer...but I know David Beckham!Lots of people dont really follow the NBA...but they know Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Vince Carter, Dwayne Wade, Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, etc
4/16/2007 5:37:08 PM
the difference is that kobe and lebron are the best in the game, and beckham's a mediocre right midfielder on a mediocre team
4/16/2007 6:17:32 PM
maybe so, i'll take your word on what type of player beckham isbut what other soccer players are known to "casual soccer" fans here in the state? i would consider myself nothing more than a casual soccer fan, and aside from beckham the only other players i could name without looking them up are freddie adu, ronaldo, renaldino, and a couple of the other scrubs on team usaand yes i know ronaldo and renaldino (spelling) are brazilian[Edited on April 16, 2007 at 6:29 PM. european leagues and such dont sell the us hard for soccer, thats why no one knows names over sea
4/17/2007 12:10:19 AM
Duncan probably shouldn't have been thrown out, but Refs don't like it when you show them up. Duncan was obviously mocking a call and they had already had words, so I'm not really that surprised. I've seen people T'd up for shit like that in AAU and high school ball all the time. Not that it's the same, but Tim was definitely trying to get the guy going by laughing hysterically at a call[Edited on April 17, 2007 at 12:20 AM. Reason : .]
4/17/2007 12:19:40 AM
that call at oberto was bullshit. His feet were planted and made no other motion.
4/17/2007 2:10:29 AM
but it's tim duncantim duncanyou give him the benefit of the doubt
4/17/2007 4:15:18 AM
^^i agree...that was terrible. it looked like oberto was just standing there setting a screen and howard(i think) came flying at him looking like he was trying to knee oberto in the face...and oberto got the foul called on him. it was bad.

^you're not some kind of soccer fan are you? please say you're not...
4/17/2007 11:20:19 AM
This reminds me of an old joke, but I can't remember who said it and where it came from...anyone want to help?Coach asks the ref is he can be thrown out for what he thinks. The ref says no, and the coach says something to the effect of 'well i think you suck' and the ref throws him out.
4/17/2007 12:23:32 PM
i hope youre joking
4/17/2007 12:25:20 PM
Sadly, that really made me laugh ^^
