Im looking into a flash drive. I don't know much about them but I'm thinking of getting a 2GB or higher. I've noticed there is not much difference in price with a 512MB and 1GB. Should I stick to a name brand like Memorex or ScanDisk? BB has a special on a 4GB. I put a link to a 4GB ScanDisk and two other 2GB ScanDisk. What are the major differences in the two 2GB by ScanDisk?Any help?http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8003616&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat107700050013&id=1155848366954http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7688282&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat107700050013&id=1138083287005http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7366566&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat107700050013&id=1122653260124

i nabbed a high-speed samsung 2gb flash disk from buy.com for $5AR about a month backthat said, i don't understand why everyone is so hung up on name brands...i was under the impression that there are only a handful of flash memory manufacturers and the only difference in "quality" is the housing...i have an el cheapo no-name brand 1gb drive from over 2 years ago that still works just fine and i use it every day...*shrug*that said, tiger direct has some special with CA where you buy the 2gb flash disk (it's one of those ultra-small ones, about as thick and long as a quarter) and it mounts into a credit card-shaped piece of plastic for carrying in your wallet...comes with 3 licenses for CA antivirus...i picked one up on a whim as it was only $50 - $50MIR, so about $3.50 after taxes and the stamp required to mail it insome people are too hung up on "name brand"...or maybe i've just been lucky for the last decade

There's a flash drive on this site every week for way cheaper than best buy. Just check the site frequently so you don't miss out.http://www.slickdeals.net/

a guy at work has SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 2GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive its awesome that U3 stuff has programs loaded onto the drive and he can check his e-mail (none webmail) from anywhere... it has some other neat features too..i mean he's our I.T. guy at work... i don't know if that brings him any credit or not but i think its pretty cool too.

i have the sandisk with the U3 software on it, and i just ended up deleting it. i got more space and it works like a normal flash drive that wont give me shit if i dont eject it every time i pull it out, plus the software takes up more space than its worth cause i never used it.its pretty durable too, its been on my keys for several months and no problems, i really like how the actual plug part is retractable[Edited on April 16, 2007 at 3:31 PM. if you are going with sandisk get the titanium, the micro is crap, titanium is more durable and has faster transfer speeds than the plastic micro's.i got the 4gb titanium for $53 about 3-4 weeks ago, just wait until another rebate comes around.first thing i downloaded and installed - http://www.u3.com/uninstall/here's the 2gb titanium for $30http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EWHH7I[Edited on April 16, 2007 at 9:16 PM. flash drives are cheap as hell, they are of a commodity item now. Shit we've passed out 512mb sticks at one of our trade shows last year.
