So, I have been searching for a bird design for my next tattoo. I found a bird on an Asian silk print that is very close to what I have been looking for, but I cannot identify the bird and I would like some help. I'm sorry that the image is fuzzy, but I snapped this with my cell phone.Does anyone know what it is?

I know it's not one, but that makes me think of a quetzal

yeah I'd say it looks like the resplendent quetzal from the cloud forests of Costa Rica

The closest I can come to is a swallow or a sparrow with a crazy tail. Here's the bigger picture, if it'll help anyone a little more familiar with bird art or stories.

Magpie Jay? Like the Quetzal they are also native to Costa Rica. Supposed to be the smartest bird species, related to ravens actually. Anywho, dunno how a chinaman would know about them and draw them.

"phoenix" bird of paradise (for real) so maybe the bird of paradise idea isn't too far fetched
