THE WEATHER CHANNEL!!!!

Not impressed. I'm still waiting for them to implement stadium expansion into building a national program.
4/14/2007 12:35:03 AM
yeah that always irked me, id make a cupcade with a WF style stadium and never could upgrade to a bowl or anything
4/14/2007 12:41:15 AM
How about conference expansion, true Division I-AA schedules and playoffs, as well as the ability to move a I-AA team to I-A (a true move rather than just taking Duke out of the ACC or something). These are no brainers that would add to the realism outside of the gameplay, but they keep adding stupid shit like this. Hell, doesnt every game start with the weather conditions already?
4/14/2007 12:56:43 AM
you dont get it... if you play a game in Florida, it will have the actual weather in Florida at the time that you are playing...could be a little weird... if you are playing in Michigan in late Jan... cold as fuck
4/14/2007 1:08:22 AM
4/14/2007 1:12:14 AM
Ok yeah I misread that the first time around...sounded like they were basically adding a sponsorship for the weather...but if youre playing at Wisconsin or Boise State in January, its going to be cold as hell or snowing all the time, even if its an early September game. Neat, sure, but its going to take away the realism when you think about it....would rather see the previously mentioned improvements, which shouldnt be that hard to implement.
4/14/2007 3:07:13 AM
yea....sounds like if you are playing with a team like michigan or another northern team and play the first season in august/september (real time), it's continually going to be fair weather for your games. I don't guess it's an advantage since fumbles, etc are sometimes random, but it wouldn't be the same to play a whole season with a northern team and the weather never gets cold.
4/14/2007 3:53:46 AM
This just seems like a cheap gimmick.
4/14/2007 9:36:30 AM
this saves you the time it takes to browse to weather.com, look up the weather, and change the conditions manuallyalso real weather is almost always boring. hurricane season in south florida at 3am? 99.9% of the time, that's 78 degrees and 100% humidity. EXCITING
4/14/2007 12:55:06 PM
they should just tailor the weather to the areas more. this is kind of stupid imo
4/14/2007 1:36:40 PM
and how exactly is pulling the exact weather data for the game location at that moment not tailoring to the areas more?
4/14/2007 1:43:35 PM
^ because this is way more complicated and perhaps time better spent on things that aren't stupid gimmicks
4/14/2007 1:47:24 PM
because playing a game scheduled for the first weekend in september in NC and having it snowing because you happen to be playing the game in January isnt realistic. If youre like my friends and I when we used to play this, we would play entire seasons in a very short amount of time. A team in the north could end up playing their entire season in the snow or something.Id rather just have the 'random' weather be more typical of the area for the time of the season it was.and yea ^ I HATE when game developers waste time on completely useless stuff like this. They havent really 'improved' this game from what ive seen in a few years[Edited on April 14, 2007 at 1:51 PM. Reason : ]
4/14/2007 1:50:13 PM
? not impressed ?i think this is pretty sweet, you should be impressed and then say "yea i want stadium expansion capabilities too"
4/14/2007 3:57:37 PM
I'm waiting for them to have player names there.
4/14/2007 4:28:40 PM
4/14/2007 5:16:22 PM
This is lame because it's not realistic...a step back IMO.I want the weather to be like it is at the time of year in-game in the location I'm playing in....not the time of year I'm playing.Plus they could have improved in other areas over this. Weather was the last thing on my mind..it was already random and thus...ok.
4/14/2007 5:43:29 PM
exactly. in the grand scheme of the game its LESS realistic
4/14/2007 6:28:05 PM
i'm still waiting on players being suspendable for violation of team rules and other infractionsand unlockable "traditions" that boost home-field advantages based on coach tenure and experience (such as rubbing the rock, slapping the words on the banner, or a "walk of champions")and not being able to see the game you're playing because its on ESPNU
4/14/2007 6:36:40 PM
^
4/14/2007 7:01:47 PM
I am sure you can turn it off if you want to... and it would be sweet if it remembered the actual weather for games after they happen in real life and it always uses them... doesnt seem like it would be that hard so maybe it does do that...purely bells and whistles however I would love to see authentic pregame shows. The actual formations the bands use, players running through the band etc.
4/14/2007 7:07:28 PM
this weather channel thing is probably in the Play Now and online modes, and not so much in the dynasty sections. I wouldnt put it past EA to put this in the dynasty part, but think its going to impact more of the non-season game modes.
4/15/2007 11:10:36 AM
does this really matter guys?on another note, the gamespot preview says there's 124 authentic stadiums now and they did addons for stadiums that changed...maybe ours will be right this year
4/15/2007 11:49:33 AM
4/15/2007 6:28:11 PM
college athletes are not paid...there for there will never be any names in the game.go and download the rosters if you want them. ill have the 360 rosters again this year...
4/15/2007 7:32:29 PM
4/15/2007 7:40:08 PM
2 more months
5/20/2007 5:25:15 PM
^good job not having it say '08.
5/20/2007 5:32:06 PM
i didnt make it, saw it on a thread, i know its last year but its ncsu!i read on a preview on ign that the graphics are not as good as last year because they wanted to make it run at 60fps instead of 30fps (said they made the reflections and whatnot on the helmets not as good, etc)
5/20/2007 8:10:13 PM
fine with me, that was the thing that bugged the shit out of me was the framerate
