Anyone know any tricks to fix a small crack in a CD? All of the tracks play except the last two (where the crack is). I know this is probably a lost cause, but I figured it was worth a shot. TY.

The plastic part can be fixed, the aluminum part can not.

if it's cracked then you're screwed.

If it's scratched then there is hope, but it would cost more to get something to fix it then to buy a new one.

if the data layer is intact, you might try sanding through the plastic until you get through the crack/scratch and then polishing it with an agent like diamod dust solution (after backing up the disc first). this process would take hours and there'd be a high risk of screwing up. you'd only even think about trying it if the data could not be obtained otherwise.

microwaving the disc usually can eliminate small scratches.

no just dampen the scratch area and put it in the mircrowave for about 15 seconds. the silver protectant will soften and "heal" the outer layer then dry clear leaving the data layer intact. I do this all the time at work.
