4/6/2007 5:44:04 PM
yeah the Don Imus show on MSNBC i think?still though...from the black people on Around the Horn today, as well as Wilbon on PTI , they did NOT accept his "apology"]
4/6/2007 5:45:05 PM
it was Imus
4/6/2007 5:45:30 PM
oh ok my bad, it was Imusdoes Sid Rosenberg have a show or something?i cant remember the connection between the two but anyway, he said some pretty overtly racist stuff on the air
4/6/2007 5:47:40 PM
from wikipedia:
4/6/2007 5:48:15 PM
thats fucking awesome that someone said jigaboos on the radio
4/6/2007 7:06:09 PM
haha imus has always been on that edge
4/6/2007 7:49:27 PM
Womens basketball sucks anyway.
4/6/2007 7:52:42 PM
haha imus has always been on that edge racist
4/6/2007 8:14:30 PM
^^true but still...thats some ballsy/dumb/racist/stupid/arrogant/gutsy shit to sayyou pick the adjective that you prefer
4/6/2007 10:08:02 PM
if anyone has seen the rutgers women's team...it isn't that far of a stretch to picture imus saying this...those are some rough women.
4/6/2007 10:56:38 PM
since when is calling someone a nappy headed ho ballsy or gutsy? if he said it to their face maybe.i would really like someone to try and justify this.
4/6/2007 11:05:41 PM
JIGGABOOS
4/6/2007 11:15:23 PM
since when is calling someone nappy a media outrage? who gives a shit ?
4/6/2007 11:19:26 PM
^^^, ^exactly what I'm wonderingIf anything his comments were sexist, not racist
4/6/2007 11:22:02 PM
haha I love the IMUS show. watch it on msnbc and listen to it on sports talk am 850.
4/7/2007 4:40:41 PM
4/7/2007 5:44:44 PM
That Imus guy should be fired for his dumb ass remarks...how the hell does someone like that get voted into the national broadcaster's hall of fame...very fucking stupid...he would never make that comment to one of those players face's.
4/7/2007 6:42:06 PM
you cant get fired for telling it like it is
4/7/2007 7:04:14 PM
you can catch a lot of shit for being overtly racist on a nationally broadcasted program
4/7/2007 7:05:26 PM
He was only telling the truth and saying what most of America was thinking. I mean hell, have you actually seen the girls on that basketball team? Maybe if they worried more about how they looked, then none of this would be going on.
4/10/2007 3:14:15 PM
Im still trying to figure out why the Rutgers basketball team felt they needed to have a press conference today to respond to it. This whole thing is making a big deal out of nothing....cant people find something more important to raise hell about?
4/10/2007 3:29:37 PM
this isnt the first time that this has happenedif it is a recurring issue, then he needs canned
4/10/2007 3:48:39 PM
his remarks pale in comparison to many shows.very, very tame.just the fact that he's going to be a more public figure for sharpton to criticize than say....kidd chris in philadelphia, whose show is the most openly absurd about race and sexual preferences ive ever heard.... i mean, imus said nappy headed hoes, whatever...ill count today on my ride home during kidd chris' show the racist/sexist comments.if sharpton called out kidd chris or one of theo thers that host COMEDY shows of similar nature, you'd have never heard about it.
4/10/2007 3:50:26 PM
Nappy headed hoes!
4/10/2007 3:56:48 PM
America is beyond idiotic.
4/10/2007 4:17:29 PM
I wonder if Jesse Jackson is still "sick and tired of hearing about the Holocaust"?HEY JACKSON, YOU'LL NEVER WORK IN HYMIETOWN AGAIN!
4/10/2007 4:30:43 PM
If Imus was black, no one would have thought twice. It was in bad taste but then again, he insults everyone.
4/10/2007 5:01:13 PM
imus is old- i mean like 98 years old with a 6 year old kid- funny
4/10/2007 6:12:09 PM
Imus made a huge mistake with his insensitive comments, but I agree with Konami - it was more sexist than racist. He called them "nappy-headed hoes." None of those words imply racism, unless Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are implying that black women have cornered the market on sexual promiscuity. In which case, Sharpton and Jackson are the racists. It's also ironic that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are demanding such severe penalties for Imus's comments that were inappropriate and insensitive when there hasn't been one demand for reciprocity after their comments about the Duke LAX players.
4/10/2007 7:00:12 PM
4/10/2007 7:52:28 PM
they are talking about it on 88.1 right now
4/10/2007 7:57:15 PM
Explain to me how this is a racist comment. I think most of you don't even know the context.
4/11/2007 11:40:47 AM
I never knew "nappy headed" was racist or had anything to do with black people. I've called many white friends of mine nappy headed.. I thought it meant they hadn't combed their hair or it was getting long and needing to be cut....
4/11/2007 11:47:03 AM
Opie and Anthony have been talking a lot about this. Opie brought up a good point when he said Imus has "Fuck You" money. He feels that he should apologize and move on, and if anyone still is giving him a problem he should just tell them "Fuck You" and walk away. If he is fired, you can pretty much guarantee that either XM or Sirius would gladly hire him to do their show.
4/11/2007 11:48:59 AM
4/11/2007 11:53:10 AM
You don't refer to anyone, much less womens basketball players, as "nappy-headed hos." That's something you might get away with when shooting the breeze with "the guys." You most certainly don't do it on a nationally syndicated radio show.It isn't ballsy. It isn't sexist. It isn't racist. It is 100% pure stupidity. He doesn't need to be fired. Hell he doesn't even need to be suspended. He just needs a swift kick in the ass for being a grade-A moron.[Edited on April 11, 2007 at 12:45 PM. Reason : moron]
4/11/2007 12:44:27 PM
its also stupid to make such a fuss over what one man saysits even more stupid to allow what one dumbass old talk show host says to somehow be a crutch on your life and let it affect you that muchim starting to think the one freedom thats more important than freedom of speech is the freedom to not have to be even remotely offended by anything[Edited on April 11, 2007 at 12:47 PM. Reason : .]
4/11/2007 12:46:16 PM
4/11/2007 7:05:32 PM
so why is it ok for everyone talking about this whole thing to repeat what Imus said but not get in trouble for it?
4/11/2007 7:08:54 PM
IMUS was a great show. damn msnbc for getting him off the air....however I can still listen to him...we shall see how long that will be. Next up satellite radio and major $$$$$$$ for mr. imus.
4/12/2007 12:16:51 AM
who gives a shit ?
4/12/2007 12:21:16 AM
4/12/2007 12:22:58 AM
Guy got canned for telling the truth.
4/12/2007 12:29:12 AM
.. I like Al Sharpton, by the way."
4/12/2007 12:32:04 AM
Is Imus' wife hot? Because if Stern were to leave Beth to fuck her she must be a hot piece of ass.
4/12/2007 3:23:23 AM
or he's just saying that because he's hated Imus for years and years and years
4/12/2007 10:42:29 AM
