i'll be attending grad school at app in the fall. just wondering if anyone knew of good 1 bedroom apartments either in walking distance or on the bus route. i also want to steer clear of any typical undergraduate complexes (e.g. u house, u suites, etc.).

over half of boone's population is student, so you're going to have a tough time with that one.

try the dorms,
off campus is like party heaven when i was there,
you'll have to go there and see the many little places that rent out rooms,

not sure i really want to live in the dorms, but yeah i was planning to go up some weekend and check out some places. just wanted to see if there were any good ones i should check out first. i didn't mean i didn't want to live near students. i just don't want to live in the typical apartments geared towards undergrads, you know...the ones with tanning beds, pool parties and all that. i live in a complex like that now and it's fine but i want a quieter place for grad school.

Its been a while since I lived up there but I rented from S.C. & S. Future for many years. They rented to students and grad students and had a lot of unique properties. Rents were reasonable and the office staff and owners were cool as hell, responsive to repairs, a very welcome change from a lot of the landlords in the area. The attendance at App has gone up and they were behind on building dorms so rents shot up in the 90's.

If any local attorneys are renting apartments (Michael Vetro and Vince Gable) stay way far away. They are shuysters.

Hit up the Party App site for more current info.
