do you really need to "buy" this or more of a "borrow" this type of thingseems like u only really need to "borrow" it until u get the files and then u wouldnt need it anymore

TigerDirect usually has these for cheap. I got an external usb enclosure for 2.5" drives for ~10 there a couple of months back. Didn't check prices on the ones for 3.5" drives but if you need it fast and cheap they might have what you need. -- Dave

TigerDirect does have some cheap ass ones for around 20 bux or less.Problem is that it takes some careful wadding to get the cable and the controller card back in the enclosure after you put the drive in. But it works. I have one with a Seagate 250GB drive in it.

its worth the $$ to buy a decent enclosure. I bought a crappy Ultra one from tigerdirect and the power will only stay on with the cord in the exact right position (think headphone wire that is loose). It's caused more frustration than you can imagine
