I didn't realize Heath had been there for six yearsI hope Altman likes it at Creighton - his credibility in future hires/opportunities/etc takes a hit here, even if not a huge oneI guess if he's going to make a leap he wants it to be to a top-tier program, even though Arkansas is a pretty solid step up imo

shitty move, imo.

Our saga last year has nothing on Arkansas.I've been reading their boards, they supposedly had a deal with Gillespie (talk about drama, Ark and Gillespie had everything worked out until Tubby left UK, supposedly) and Calipari played them like a fiddle, much like he did to us last year. Most of their fans didn't even like the idea of Altman, now they're pissed that they've been turned down for the likes of Creighton.

I have a hard time believing Gillispie would leave A&M for freakin Arkansas. Neither is a 'better' job than the other, and Gillispie is a Texas man with a much better program at A&M.

^^ I remember the National Championship (40 minutes of hell, Corliss Williamson,etc)... but I honestly had no idea they had so many Final Fours. If it came down to money, which do you think could pay him more? I'd imagine aTm has some deep pockets. Still, you're in freakin Arkansas. Give me aTm any day (This, coming from a closet Aggie that made one of the #1 things to do in his life: see an aTm vs Texas game at Kyle Field)[Edited on April 4, 2007 at 8:15 PM. Reason : ]

You know it was his wife. She got to Arkansas and was like, "Oh Fuck NO" Not to say Creighton is in paradise.

I guess it's time they move down the list to their next three guys: Billy Donovan, Roy Williams, and Coach K.

i've found Omaha to be a great town. it IS a good spot for a family though so I'm sure that was a big reason.buuuut I think it ultimately had to be the Pig Sooey chant. they showed him on the news the other night in Fayetteville making the annoucement, then they had everyone on stage and in the crowd do it...WOW was it painful to sit through, I was embarrassed just watching it on tv. he kept expecting it to stop and they kept going...you could see in his eyes "How long does this go on?? MY GOD what have I done..."

I dunno, the whole hog calling thing isn't that bad, I actually kinda like it for a cheer. I like the Rockchawk Jayhawk chant too, so there ya go...

oh i like it myself...i think it's pretty badass. but Altman was sweating like a whore in church, and was confused about how to do it...it was hilarious
