trader joes has maybe 15 or so beers

5 or so of these are their store brand, which are good because they are cheap

^^ nah that is the absolute best. i'm drinking read seal ale right now. a couple of the beers taste like coffee. but if you find one you really like then you are in good shape. "they only have 15 different types of beer" but Joe's switches from month to month on their selection. i dont know, if you are looking for some new beer go out to trader joes. if you want bush light go to food lion.

^^ um red seal ale is a common beer at a lot of non-college bars/hippy colleges (even on draft).

Total wine has a pretty good selection - I frequently mix and match 6packs. Sam's Quik Stop is fucking choice as well, they have the most selection in terms of 6packs around. Peace street market is cheaper than total wine and the selection is about 1/2 the total number of beers carried, but they have all the important/interesting ones.

whatever man, we're not talking about pabst here...singles of decent beer usually cost around $1.75 or $7 for a six-pack, so yes, 90 cents per single and six-packs for about $5 is cheap

sam's is nice, but both peace street and whole foods are much closer and are really good places

^^ its $5.49 per six pack, and I don't see what the big draw is if I can get quality beer for $6 or less per six pack at peace/grocery/etc. just doesn't sound all that "cheap" unless its truly superior beer.

I'm not even saying it's great, or even really good. But $5.49 is like bud light cheap, and the shit is ok...that's the draw. I'd also like to know what quality beer you are getting for <$6. No need to argue over pocket change though, I'm just saying.

I'd say Whole Foods is the best place in Raleigh to get beer. They might not have the selection that Peace St has, but the staff actually cares about the beer and don't just order whatever they can get and let it sit in the coolers for 3 years.

i built a 6 pack at total wine that cost me $15. But it didnt include several high gravity beers including a french beer that was 13% and brooklyn barelywine style ale which was 10%.
