Recent research has shown that empirical evidence for globalization of corporate innovation is very limited and as a corollary the market for technologies is shrinking. As a world leader, it's important for America to provide systematic research grants for our scientists. I believe strongly there will always be a need for us to have a well articulated innovation policy with emphasis on human resource development. Thank you.

3/28/2007 8:46:32 PM
glad i'm not the only one surprised about japan not being way up the listi guess it maybe different if it specified computer/electronic technology or something?
3/28/2007 8:56:58 PM
oh well...
3/28/2007 9:02:17 PM
taiwan, hong kong, and singapore are ahead of japan.very surprising.but yeah, as you^said, it would be different if it was computer tech. japan would be at the top. this is just about "networked readiness".

Ok, so here we go again, showing statistics of one thing and proclaiming it demonstrates something else. All the countries listed above the US on that list are small with a highly urbanized citizenry. It is just a function of the allocation of scarce resources that it is far cheaper to wire up a dense city than some rural backwater. Imagine my surprise when countries that are 90% urbanized score higher on network penetration than the US which is only 75% urbanized. And even if it did demonstrate something, what would anyone suggest? Having the government mandate network access for every family? [Edited on March 28, 2007 at 10:31 PM. Reason : .,.]

I do think that Korea at 19 is surprising. This, when the government has some rule to the effect that any new houses built should be "Home Network" ready. Broadband is ubiquitous there and pretty much everybody has cell phones. I think they're quite ahead with WiBro and stuff.

Well, not like anyone cares, but trikk311 did not imply he meant this thread. When he said "here" I clearly discerned that he was talking about TWW in general, not this thread in particular.
3/29/2007 8:52:37 PM
That list's bs. Japan should be on there somewhere. Denmark?! XD yea right
3/29/2007 10:38:04 PM
stupid
4/2/2007 1:00:09 PM
This is utterly useless information based on subjective rankings based on overgeneralized "statistics".
