Do you know of a drill attachment I could use for scrubbing rust specs off of chrome? I am clean up a motorcycle that has not been touched in a while. I just don't want to pick up something that might damage or scratch up the parts.

get an SOS soap pad, wet it, rub chrome, and say bye-bye to rust. and no, it won't scratch it.

SOS pad and Coca-Cola.

eh, you don't need cola with an sos pad since it will hold water. i've always heard use cola with aluminum foil and the cola acts as a lubricant. not sure if the cola does anything other than that, though.

cola is acidicprobably helps dissolve the rust

Coke is acidic alright. It has a good amount of phosphoric acid in it.Our chemist at work says that Coca-Cola is one of the world's largest users of phosphoric acid.Phosphoric acid is also one of the main ingredients of naval jelly...which is specifically used to dissolve rust. Phosphoric acid is also used to "pickle" some metals in manufacturing and also to etch the surface to promote topcoat adhesion.

its also got carbonic acid from the carbon dioxidebut its not that acidic

P21S polishing soap.. try it.. 10 bucks... That or most OTC metal polishes will do just fine, I just happen to be in love with the polishing soap.

The sos pad did the trick. I used some non-grit orange cleaner and was able to scrub 99% of it off.
