Every other Nokia and pretty much every cell phone I have had, you can assign certain ringtones to individual numbers. However, I fooled around with this forever, and can not figure out how to do it. Is it even possible with this phone?

My wife has it, I'll play around with it and see if I can figure it out. She just uses it to make calls and that's it, so she doesn't usually set up any of the advanced features.

I figured it out, well someone at work did. You can't do it to individual numbers, well you can, but you have to create a "group" which can include just one number or many numbers, and then you can assign a ringtone to that group. Seems like a totally uneeded step, they should have just left it like it was.

Phone often have stupid shit like that.... my w810 won't let me assign mp3's above a certain size to ringtones unless I flash the thing and unbrand it. The size is redonculously small. It also won't let me turn of shutter sounds while taking pictures unless unbranded. Grrr.

^but thats not the phones fault. That is Cingular's money grubbing way of trying to get you to buy ringtones off of their Media Mall.

^ That is when you start hacking your cell I can hack Alltel phones (not that difficult as Alltel does not lock out most stuff like Verizon does) and I can also hack pretty much all Nextel cellphones to do things not originally designed straight out of the box...here are a couple of pics showing the software or "codeplug" from one of Sprint Nextels newest phones the i880:Hacking cellphones to personalize it is pretty addictive...now all of my friends and family want me to mod their phones in some form or fashion...
