I just put in a new motherboard and I've come across a hitch:My DVD burner is recognized as a DVD player, but not as a burner. It reads disks fine, but doesn't recognize blank CDs, and media player doesn't recognize any burner on my system.Help me Dr TWWOh, and I've already updated the drives firmware and installed the latest mobo drivers[Edited on March 17, 2007 at 3:30 PM. this might work?open my computerright click on the recorderselect proprtiesclick the hardware tabwrite down the firmware recorder name from the drivelist(you need the exact name spaces will be displayed as underscores)thenclick on startclick on runtype regedit and click okgo to HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VOB\CDRA\Writerlook for your recorder or a similar typerename that recorderclose regeditshould work now!

Curious... what model is your burner? Check the label on top of the drive. I know it's not likely, but I want to make sure you weren't duped into buying a DVD-ROM with a DVD-RW faceplate slapped on it.
