I am riding a Honda shadow and am thinking about getting rid of it. I would like to find some other bikes to test ride, but most shops wont let you. Does anyone have a beater sport bike that runs pretty well and would be willing to let me test ride it? I have been looking at bikes such as the Honda 599, Yamaha FZ6, etc.

sure thing. I am mainly concerned about the riding posture, as I spent a lot of time on my bike at the moment.

take a look at f4i's, they're about the most comfortable sport bike i've been on for longer rides. nothing is going to be anywhere close to your shadow though.

Yea, the shadow is not comfortable for me at all on long rides though. Its the vt600, and I feel really cramped-up on it. Its a good bike for someone who is not 6 feet tall. I have sat on some of the bigger ones, which seem to spread you out more.

my r1 is surprisingly comfy for a superbike. much more comfortable than any of the 600's these fools^ have. altough wind protection does not work as intended.

[Edited on March 15, 2007 at 5:04 PM. Reason : they all have 600 supersports tho, im sure 599/fz will be totally different]

superhawk is less comfortable than the r1 imo. also feels taller. never rode sv1000 but 650's are fairly comfy

it will annihilate either a 750 or 1100 Shadow, though.

you won't like it, but you can't hurt my 600rr right now, so you're welcome to come have a ride on it.

if you want comfort, look at a honda vfr750f or 800

those things are way easy to ride for days

great low end too

i've gone 3-4 hrs of constant riding on my superhawk. It's something i'd hate to do on a daily basis. It's alittle more upright position than most sportbikes. I'd still like to get a corbin and helibars for it though.

kyle-

It's ridable and road legal, just not too pretty since I havn't had time to do any bodywork.
I've been riding it w/out fairings for a couple weeks now. I even took it to asheville over break with the headlights zip-tied to it
