Well I'm a grad student and I want this class as part of my concentration of classes. I'm allowed to take it since there isn't a graduate level class covering the same topic. Now, I graduated NCSU with a B.S. in Poli Sci (joke away), but never took a class with Boettcher. Amazing, I know. So folks who have had him for this class or others, please let me know what to expect. I haven't taken an undergrad level class since 2004, so I'd have to get back into the groove of midterms and crap.

I loved it! I took 331 and 437 with Dr. Boettcher (and he was my adviser). The paper is anything you want it to be about national security so if you have an area of interest you'll have no problem popping it out. I just remember taking notes, reading stuff (Black Hawk Down was the worst thing I was subjected to), and the tests are blue book essays. I wouldn't worry about the "undergrad groove." If anything freshen up your 331 since it's the prereq and a lot of it is history and theory. I also found 231 helpful while I was taking it concurrently with 437 so maybe go over your notes there.
