y'all are a heck of a needy organization...some of that's high dollar...why do you NEED a DSLR?
3/12/2007 11:29:33 PM
get all this shit donated, visit pawn shop and profit.
3/12/2007 11:36:36 PM
^haha. No, there are some options on that. If you make a donation you fill out a form and we sign and stamp and (red tape) and you send that into the IRS for a refund @ tax time. If you sell it at significantly less than street value the same happens for the difference (it's like donating the difference) and the IRS reimburses again.^^ Notice 'wishlist'BTW, the camp is only like 3 years old. To work there you have to raise half your salary, you have to get all your materials donated for the jobs the organization handles (wheel chair ramps, painting, etc), and any money left over goes toward lowering the fee for campers. It costs something like $450/week/person but campers are only charged $350 (I think those numbers are right) and we raise the difference. So all these items have been put on the back burner to keep camper fees low.If anyone has an image transport kit for a HPLJ 4600 I'd take you out for a steak dinner in exchange for that.[Edited on March 12, 2007 at 11:51 PM. i sure as hell wouldn't "donate" a DSLR to a nonprofit...you in no way "need" it...i would consider donating a decent camera, but that of all of them is just plain greed

No... The camp would like to open up a paid media position for pictures and videos, that's why a nice camera was put on the wish list. If you have ANY kind of camera or basically ANYTHING you want to donate (down to a few reams of paper even) we'll gladly take it and get you a tax write off. If you're serious about the camera, please PM me.
