I don’t think cutting off thewolfweb even more from outsiders is the right response. I think the more people & the more kinds of people that you interact with, regardless of medium, the more tolerant you become.

the solution shouldnt be to close TWW to the public.

I think the solution should either be:

a) suspend users who post blatantly racist remarks with regularity. and frankly I still support banning people who post seriously disgusting shit without title warnings.

or

b) post the public information of the individuals who do post such racist remarks. If you want to say it, you should be willing to back it up. I have a feeling almost all of this shit would go away if people had the threat of their identities being released held over their heads.

Affiliated with the university or not, students and faculty are still held within the university's policies. If someone posts racially charged remarks ANYWHERE and is an NCSU student, they can be held responsible for those comments.

I dont think a mass vote is any more fair.

There are several users on this site who could be banned just out of personal prejudices, not because they did anything wrong.

I think there should be several mod's of different opinions, and it should take a majority vote of them to ban/suspend someone. Basically find 5 people on this site who are all fairly level-headed, but don't like each other at all, and it should be a balanced system.

But really I just favor releasing people's public information should they start spewing serious hate.
