Got into a discussion over Final Fantasy 12... is it the most sequeled game? Mario has a bunch (not including Smash Bros or Kart). I'd consider games like Paper Mario and Mario RPG to count. Does anyone have a tally on Mario games? Should Paper Mario count? How many Megaman's are there?

Are you including the X series for the MegaMan count? There would be 17 MegaMan games (MegaMan 1-8, MegaMan and Bass, MegaMan X1-X8)I don't know whether or not to include MegaMan X Zero or .exeSonic had like 6 games
3/10/2007 3:30:37 PM
There have only been like 14 FF games. Mario has had TONS of games.
3/10/2007 3:38:18 PM
There are way more than six Sonic games.Off the top of my head (not including Spinball and Shuffle, etc.): Sonic 1-3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Chaos 1 & 2, Sonic CD, Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Sonic Heroes, and the new "Sonic the Hedgehog" on PS3 and 360.

not counting remakes/rereleases:mario: donkey kong, mario bros arcade, smb 1-3, smb lost levels, mario world, mario land 1&2, donkey kong 94, mario vs donkey kong 1&2, mario 64, sunshine, new smb, paper mario 1&2, mario & luigi 1/2, mario rpgthat's 20 by my count, 15 if you exclude the rpgsfinal fantasy: 1-12, X-2, tactics, tactics advance, mystic questthat's 16I excluded games released as FF adventure/legends in the US b/c those games are actually part of the mana and saga series. I also excluded the myriad mario sports/kart/etc that arent core mario games.i'd say that mega man certainly and possibly castlevania have them beaten in # of games in the series.[Edited on March 10, 2007 at 8:34 PM. If you only count the "core" games (in other words games revolving around platforming and shooting), Mega Man wins this one no contest.8 Mega Man 8 Mega Man X games6 Mega Man games on the GB (basically slightly remixed versions of the NES games tho)Mega Man Xtreme 1&2 on the GBC4 Mega Man Zero games Mega Man ZXMega Man Legends 1&2Mega Man Network TransmissionThat's 32 games not counting spinoffs in other genres like Mega Man soccer and the Battle Network games
3/11/2007 1:30:19 PM
^if you include spinoffs then Mario has got a shit load more too. There's already been like 8 Mario Party, a couple Kart, Tennis, Wario World, Yoshi's game, luigi mansion, etc, etc etc[Edited on March 11, 2007 at 8:14 PM. Reason : d]
