I was wondering if anyone knew about this sterilization for male puppies known as Neutersol. i have a puppy that I will not get neutered until another 2-3 months, but I would rather have a noninvasive surgery! Has anyone used neutersol on their own pets?

nope, but any vet will tell you that a neuter isn't that big of a deal anyway.

http://lists.envirolink.org/pipermail/ar-news/Week-of-Mon-20031208/012777.htmlNot sure I agree with the entire article, but interesting information. Pretty much it seems that it works as a birth control option, but doesn't alter behavior (doesn't stop testerone production). So if you are getting your puppy neutered for behavior reasons than it would be a waster of time.

neutering is more than preventing pet over population or behavioral problems. It reduces the risk of testicular cancer and prostate cancer.

I believe that as far as prostate cancer in dogs goes, neutering does not prevent it. Neutering does, however, lessen the amount of testosterone which is associated with enlargement, discomfort, infection, and cancer. So it definitely will help, but won't prevent.I found out that Neutersol does not lessen the amount of testosterone produced, but only makes the dog unable to produce sperm. This makes them just as susceptible to prostate and testicular cancer just like if they weren't neutered.I think I will stick with neutering only because I'm more familiar with it. Neutersol sounds like it should be an aerosol application for neutering...[Edited on March 9, 2007 at 6:55 PM. Reason : spray to spay!]
