first that bitch in the ACC women's tourney and then tonight whenever someone had the ball near them they would fall to the ground like they just took a forearm shiver. Fuck that dirty ass style of play.

I thought this thread was about Shane Battier

scheyer is the new battier. he pulls people to the ground with him when shooting and gets the calls. also, i know yall loved that paulus SHOVE on atsur on the last play of regulation. how blatant can you get

I was saying the same thing the whole game... in the last 5 minutes, they were flopping every chance they got. They should start calling bad acting violations on the defense ... give them a T or something. When you Arch your back like that, its not because someone ran in to you.... its cause you suck at acting.

It was great to see the refs not rewarding them for this ridiculous behaviorfor once

Yeah, obvious flops should be a technical. I really hate when that shit happens, everyone knows it was intentional, and all the ref can do is look on.*I hope this change gets made when we have a bunch of guards and strong players
3/8/2007 11:09:53 PM
shit, they've been doing that for years. I remember watching bball with my dad growing up and he'd always call it the "duke defense" whenever he saw a team try to pull it. Unfortunately, it seems to work more often than it should...

The Paulus shove wasn't near as bad as that last possesion with like 10 seconds to go and McCauley was going up for the rebound and Fells got it. McBob had a hold of Ben's jersey for crying out loud.

I'm tired of seeing duke and carolina allowed to paw all over offensive players when nobody else can get away with it, wasn't there a crackdown on hand checks like 10 years ago anyway
3/8/2007 11:59:28 PM
only because it's duke and carolina!!

^they're supposed to be doing that all the time now.Battier usually actually took charges. Everyone else just flops. I was also glad to see the refs weren't falling for it.McRoberts dunk should have been a charge.
3/9/2007 9:21:06 AM
do you think the officials were going to foul out three duke players?
3/9/2007 9:31:33 AM
^^I figured as much, but I don't get much regular season hockey. And I was wondering how that dunk wasn't a charge. And the announcers just kept saying, "he was like a train that couldn't be stopped!"^Doubtful. More likely, if they have to, they'll find a random low foul Duke player nearby to call it on.[Edited on March 9, 2007 at 9:41 AM. Reason : .]

Flops are very feminine especially when you are considered a great player and a McD AA. Now Divas in the NBA had no choice, he was just SOL when it came to athleticism, so he had to make due. No excuses for Duke's players, they are supposed to be good, but K preaches this type of stuff knwon tot he rest of the ACC as "Duke D" where Duke players can handcheck as hard as they want and flop and get calls. The flops wouldn't be bad if they called it both ways (consistently, the game was a b+ IMO). How in the world was McBob not whistled for a charge when he flew over Gavin?? It was the one play Gavin played defense and got in good position all night, I didn't fault him one bit, he beat Mcbob to the spot and got jobbed by the refs.
