what do you think of this? I already pulled the trigger so it's more of what I'll be looking to replace soon to eventually.http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/wishlist/PublicWishDetail.asp?WishListNumber=4385931

I bought a new computer a few weeks back. I didn't start a new thread about it.I guess maybe I should have. That seems to be the popular thing to do these days.TWW is a blg.]

I think you're bragging, is what I thinkI also think that I do not care

that better be some good thermal compound.....

the artic silver is $5.99
3/2/2007 9:34:21 AM
I think your PSU might have been a bit overkill...but depending on what your needs are with the video card. I might have looked at the cost of the CPU...but other than that...looks cool cool to me.
3/2/2007 9:42:52 AM
props for the thread title, i chuckled. looks like a pretty solid system but i second the overkill on the PSU. especially for the premium you have to pay for it.
3/2/2007 10:18:28 AM
lol i haven't paid attention to tech talk since vista was hitting RTM/Gold. Didn't know the new cliche thing to do was make a pc thread. Bragging? about a mid-line overclocking 1200 dollar system, seriously? why all the fucking hostility?Yeah, PSU might be overkill but I saw it referenced in alot of threads and review posts. Just so you know it's not a 300 dollar psu, the prices are all shifted.[Edited on March 2, 2007 at 11:13 AM. Reason : .]

oh right, i always seem to forget some people have nothing better to do than troll tww threads and make comments filled with such banality that they just end up looking like immature asshats.Apologies for going three years without asking help more than 5 times from the tech talk clique and slipping up to brag about a new pc, definitely rather than illicit a response from a handful of people i know browse this section and would offer an opinion without telling me how gay the thread is.
3/2/2007 11:47:29 AM
looks good.Only a complete fucking idiot would spend more than 1200-1300$ on a computer.[Edited on March 2, 2007 at 1:34 PM. Reason : even that is high]
3/2/2007 1:34:23 PM
^ I disagree.
3/2/2007 1:35:11 PM
Ok well get back to fpga builds. Sorry i interjected with reason.
3/2/2007 1:38:15 PM
You didn't interject with reason. You only interjected with an insult with hopes someone would agree with your smart ass comment.More than likely this guy doesn't need the capabilities of what a $1300+ computer could do for him, but there are some people who do.
3/2/2007 1:57:54 PM
who?I'm with Quinn on this. I can't think of a single individual who NEEDS more power than that.
3/2/2007 2:04:40 PM
Probably the ComputerGuy.
3/2/2007 2:06:00 PM
people don't build a $1200+ pc for needs (with the exception of maybe hardcore development machines). for things like gaming its a hobby, so who really cares how much you spend? although i admit trolling is a much more inexpensive hobby.
3/2/2007 3:35:22 PM
How the fuck are you going to spend all that money on a computer, then skimp on the RAM and buy something made by a company called "Super Talent" with only a one year warranty?
3/2/2007 5:22:17 PM
dunno i guess i let the 5/5 stars from 40 some newegg buyers and the repeating suggestions on anandtech throw me for a loop. :/
3/2/2007 6:31:36 PM
Lets review. You're planning on overclocking the computer, which means at some point you'll probably raise the RAM voltage.Your options are RAM from a very established company that offers a lifetime warrantyOR"Super Talent" which offers a one year warrantyI don't know man, that's a real tough call.
3/2/2007 8:12:10 PM
Meh, brand names on RAM mean jack shit these days. They all either use Samsung or Winbond chips. It's like video cards, the only thing the brand name determines is the name printed on the heatsinks.
3/2/2007 9:11:32 PM
Which is why you might as well just get the one with the lifetime warranty.Unless, of course, you're planning to die within that year. Then either way, really.
3/2/2007 9:42:37 PM
Super Talent sticks do have a lifetime warranty http://www.supertalent.com/products/product_detail.php?PN=T800UX2GC4

Then someone better tell Newegg to update:
3/3/2007 3:16:24 AM
3/3/2007 10:51:10 AM
do nvidia and ati give out reference layouts?if not there could be a significant difference between a video card produced by two companies (schematics identical).
